I will be very surprised if the Falcons can win this game.

The game I most relate to is not the loss by San Fran to Seattle. That is a Div game and many teams trade off wins and loss games within their divisions.

The one I have looked at the closest is San Fran going into Foxboro and beating New England 41-34

I thought about taking the Falcons and buying some good old points to boost their asses. I dont think its going to work in this game. The Falcons have the worst defense ever. They suck. They have no pass rush at all. John Abrabum, come on he was done 2 yrs ago. I think he had 4 sacks this year.

Spread them out and run like a deer Colin.

Falcons are happy to have got the monkey off their backs with their first playoff win in forever.

Now they can sit back and get stomped by the better overall team.

To keep Kaepernick bottled up on scrambles, Green Bay went to more of a "mush rush" philosophy in the second half. That worked well on designed pass plays, but Kaepernick was still deadly on read option calls and designed quarterback runs. But of course, Kaepernick is not the only rushing threat for the 49ers. Frank Gore ran for 119 yards in the divisional round, and San Francisco is one of the most diverse running games in the league. The 49ers are very difficult to prepare for -- now more than ever with Kaepernick at quarterback.

Atlanta's run defense is a problem area, but it did hold Marshawn Lynch to 46 yards on 16 carries last week and has defended the run much better at home.

Still, mobile quarterbacks give the Falcons fits. As it has been throughout the season, tackling for the Falcons was a huge problem against Seattle last week, and no offense in the league can wear down a defense like San Francisco's can.:scared

Too many close games for the Falcons where they gave up leads and struggled like a sum bitch to come back and win. That shit catchs up to the Falcons in this game.

Falcons and the SuperBowl should not be said in the same breath.

The 49ers defense ranked fourth in the NFL by allowing an average of 94.2 yards on the ground during the regular season. Sit on the run and concentrate on Matt Ryan passing. Hit him and Matty Ice gets the happy feet quicker than you can say Tom Brady.

Turner, 30, of Suwanee, Ga., was booked into the Gwinnett County jail in metro Atlanta just after 5 a.m. Turner spent barely two hours behind bars before he was released on $2,179 bond, jail records showed.

A police officer pulled over Turner's black Audi R8 on Interstate 85 northeast of Atlanta after clocking the car at 97 mph - 32 mph over the speed limit, said Cpl. Edwin Ritter, a police spokesman.

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham was arrested Monday night on two misdemeanor obstruction charges when he allegedly refused to leave an area taped off by police.

Fulton County jail records showed Abraham was released from custody early Tuesday morning on a $7,000 total bond, or $3,500 for each of two charges of obstruction from Monday night.

Abraham's arrest came after Atlanta firefighters and police responded to a report of a female threatening to jump from a hotel window Monday night, according to Officer K.Y. Jones.

Officers were moving people away from the scene when Abraham entered the taped-off area, Jones said.

Jones said Abraham "was confronted by an Atlanta firefighter who repeatedly ordered him to leave the scene."

"Mr. Abraham refused to leave, and nearby officers had to respond to Mr. Abraham's location," Jones said. "The officers also ordered Mr. Abraham to leave, and he again refused and insisted on continuing further into the scene. Officers then took Mr. Abraham into custody."

49ers LT Joe Staley vs. Falcons DE John Abraham: Staley, who was selected to his second Pro Bowl, was a first-round pick in 2007 when Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan was the head coach. He was voted AP second-team All-Pro.

Abraham, who?s battling a left ankle sprain, played 15 of 67 defensive snaps (22 percent) against Seattle before leaving the game late in the second quarter. With Abraham, who had 10 sacks in 2012, out of the lineup, the defense collapsed. It yielded 28 points in the second half and blew two 20-point leads.:scared

49ers DE Justin Smith vs. Falcons LT Sam Baker: Smith will play with an elbow injury and partially torn triceps. The Falcons expect Smith to move around and face Tyson Clabo some. Smith usually takes up two blockers and that allows outside linebacker Aldon Smith to come free for his sacks.

Baker and left guard Justin Blalock must be on the same page against the 49ers? stunts.

49ers WR Michael Crabtree vs. Falcons CB Asante Samuel: Crabtree was targeted 11 times and caught nine passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns against Green Bay. He clearly is quarterback Colin Kaepernick?s favorite receiver.

Samuel was part of the secondary that gave up 358 yards passing to Seattle. The Falcons will counter with their top cover corner in Samuel and try to lock up Crabtree. :scared

Random thoughts on this game.


The Falcons give up a lot of yards on the ground; the 49ers have a very good ground game.

Hard to imagine the Falcons defensive line having much success against the 49ers offensive line in either the pass or the run game, especially with Abraham having a boo boo on his little ankle.

The 49ers have a WR much better than anybody on the Seahawks.

And what about how Zach Miller owned the Falcons' secondary? The 49ers have not one, but two tight ends capable of getting down the field. And remember, Seattle was also playing without Chris Cleamons last week:scared

As for that Seattle loss, the 49ers were playing without Justin Smith, who, while not 100%, did a good job last week, and didn't re-injure himself.

Seattle is also the toughest place to play in the NFL, they are a much more physical team than the Falcons, and the 49ers were coming off a brutally tough cross country trip to NE the week before.

You think the Falcons would have beaten the Patriots and Seahawks back-to-back games on the road ? :142smilie
