is quite a little spark plug for McCain. I think the election is now 50-50 after believing Obama had this thing all wrapped up. Sure her family has issues, but she's trashing Obama very effectively and she's proving to be a solid speaker.

I have to believe Palin will trash Biden in the debates. She's very charismatic despite not having a lot of experience. She's kind of like the Obama for Republican party LOL!

Others thoughts?

A tremendous speech by the newest star in the Republican Party. Very excited about Gov. Palin being on the ticket and look forward to her and Biden debating. Should be very interesting. :00hour

Exactly, everyone had low expectations for her and this speech. She nailed it.

I thought she did a good job tonight. However, it was pretty obvious when she was speaking from the heart, and when parts of the speech - especially the specifics on foreign policy situations - were scripted for her.

I have no concerns about Biden's performance against Palin in the debates. If anything gets past talking about hockey and John McCain's time spent in captivity, she'll be exposed. It's easy to give a good speech, if you are a decent speaker. It's a much different story when you don't have a script to work from. Biden can speak plain talk and comes from blue collar roots, too, and no doubt he'll be prepared to temper his style in that format.

It was a great speech for the republicans. No substance but they ate it up. She will be tough for Biden.

I'm as cynical as the next person when it comes to politics but I really believe she just gave Grandpa Simpson a better than average shot to win the November election. Before her selection I was lukewarm on the McCain campaign but not anymore. God help me.

She hit the nail on the head several times, with these truths...

"Some candidates use change to promote their careers. John McCain has used his career to promote change. "

"The presidency is not supposed to be a journey of personal discovery.."

"There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you."

"The special confidence of those who have seen evil and have seen how evil is overcome."

This will be an awesome two months, and she is a wonderful candidate.

Chad i think i disagree here. This is gonna be tough for Biden. To try and debate her and not come off rough. I think Biden is in a no win situation here. I can here them drilling him right now "Joe we can't come off as bullies"

.

Funny how both points would have been anti-Republican bulletpoints in 2004. Maybe it is a time for change afterall.
