I have only eaten it when I was in Greece. I am pretty sure the fish is only found in the Mediterranean Sea, but I may be wrong on that. I am sure you could find it in other countries that border the Mediterranean Sea:shrug:

And if ya have the cash I am sure it could be shipped over to North America:shrug:

It is by far and away the best fish I have ever eaten. I think I ate like 3 a day when I was last in Greece, so so so tasty:em71:

How much could it possibly cost to dry ice it and ship it? If the stuff is that damn good... I'd like to try it.
I surely like my "fish food" what can you compare it to? Haddock? Trout? you name it? How was it prepared when you ate it? Broiled, deep fried, breaded, ect, ect?

As for cost to ship, I have no clue, maybe it would be cheap, maybe not. I have no idea:shrug:

As for "what it tastes like" I am far from a fish connoisseur, in fact I think I have maybe eaten 4 or 5 different kinds of fish. So be aware I am far from an expert on the subject. If I had to compare it, I'd say it is close to soul. But to be honest it is different from any fish I have ever tasted. As stated I am by no means an expert, but man oh man do I ever find this fish tasty.

As for how I eat the fish. The restaurants I ate at all put the entire fish on the barbecue. I think they threw a ton of garlic on it as well. I always ate it with some melted butter. I am sure there are a bunch of ways to eat the fish, but the bbq method was oh so good.

I wonder if there is a way to ship it from Greece? I'd love to eat some Sargos right now:SIB

If anybody finds a place that could ship it, let me know. Of course it would depend on the cost.

Note: I am talking this fish up like it is an orgasm in your mouth, I am sure it will be a letdown for any madjacker that eats it:142smilie

There in northern Mexico and Cali also - very heavy fish.(Bass family-they call them blue bass out west) They are bottom feeders but are not fishy tasting . They are pretty fleshy(fatty for a fish). Unbelievable flavor.

I was told recently that the Sargos in the Pacific Ocean are a different species and taste a little different. But I have not had the Sargos from the Pacific Ocean so I don't know if that is true or not:shrug:

I have had both from both regions- could not tell the difference.
