Do you really believe Tech is going to cover this?

I spoke to my brother and he told me Tech was going to be horrible this year.

Is this your heart or head speaking here?

Penn St -30 1unit
Wyoming +7 1/2 unit

Penn St should cruise all game, I'm just hoping they're up enough that they can give up a late score and still cover. This is mainly a ranking play by me. Penn St is going to need to look as good as possible in every game in order to have a chance at the championship game.

Wyoming should be able to run the ball enough to control the clock and shorten the game on the road. Buffs offense hasn't shown me anything to make me think they'll put up a lot of points so this should be close.

Scott, how far is that from New York? That should be a great time.

My only worry about this game now is that JoePa is going to try and get the running game going. I read some quotes from him and he wants to figure out why they're not running the ball better. This could be bad but it could be great, if they do run the ball well they will control the clock and open up some big pass plays.

Penn State is about 4 hours away from NYC.

My buddy is a die hard Penn State fan and we were talking about the game last night because I wanted to bet on it since I was going to be there. He gave me a couple of good reasons why to beat on Temple.

1 - Joe Pa hates running up the score on teams
2 - The O line has three first-year starters and that is the biggest reason why they can't run the ball or provide great pass protection
3 - The D lost a lot of starters last year especially Mayben. However, they still have number 91 who is a beast and will likely be selected in the first-round.

With the spread at -29 and rising I really like Temple.

However, it is at Penn State and Temple sucks. I am thinking a small amount on Temple! Score 35-13, with a late fourth quarter TD.

45-3 last year, Joe didn't mind getting to that score last year.

I'm not big on trends but since you brought up Joe not running up the score.

6-2 ats last 8 vs teams with losing records. Usually losing teams are the ones you have to run the score up against in order to cover so he's not totally opposed to it.

atm...I'll be at the game too this weekend, have no idea where I'll be sitting, going with a bunch of guys for a tailgate, drink our faces off weekend...

anyway, I was on the points with the cuse last weekend against psu...i'm not a fan of psu but I have a good read on them for whatever reason....with Iowa looming, PSU - the points seems like the play

usually its the opposite, but not normally with PSU, I look for them to open up the playbook a little bit this weekend to give Iowa fits in game planning for while also testing it out, its time for them to get their game legs and get people talking about PSU after 2 sleep walk games....a 44-6 game is what my gut says....

I'm hoping to see the wildcat formation this weekend run by chaz powell who was quiet last week....

Texas Tech +18 2 units

I want to put more on Tech but I think this will be every tout revenge goy on UT so hopefully I can get at least 1 more point.

I'm stuck on this game....Michigan is my team, but have followed tech for the last 5 years...Leach is funny, love their offense and had harrell and crabtree on my fantasy team for years as well as my favorite Joel Filani....

In my eyes this game has 45-24 written all over it in Texas' favor.....I would like nothing more for Tech to win...but is this more an anti public or anti tout play for you?....

No Harrell and no Crabtree looks bad but actually may be a blessing, b/c unlike Harrell, Potts does not appear to have a favorite in this offense and spreads it out...Lewis game 1, Leong game 2, Swindall or Britton game 3? So theres no focal point of the offense besides the qb and theres no qb force feeding it to a wr.....

My concern is the oline and Potts ability to read the defense when texas comes with the pressure....not a doubt in my mind texas staff dismantled the OU-TTech film from last year(mind you it was the 3 game in a stretch of OSU and Tex before), but they will attack in similar fashion.....

Leach and Co better run the ball more than they did in the first 2 games and I have a feeling he may, to churn the clock and loosen up the outside....Jeffers and Stephens are exciting backs....

good luck,,,i'm still torn

Dice, there are a lot of reasons why I like Tech here. One is that I think Tech isn't losing much with Potts as the qb and actually may gain something more. The reason I say this is because is great as Graham was, he didn't have the arm to go down field. It allowed teams to keep their safetys up and never was it more visible than in the OU game. He just couldn't ever stretch the defense. Even though Potts isn't as accurate as Graham, he does have a big arm and he will stretch the defense. That opens up a lot more options for Leach. The running game hasn't been seen much so far this year but I believe it's because Leach has been trying to get Potts as many throws in as possible. I think the running game is far more explosive this year and hopefully this game will show it. Jeffers is a beast and given the chance I think people will be talking about him after this game. Texas has good d backs but I'm not sure they can put a ton of pressure on Potts(I guess this will be determined come game time).

Another big reason I like Tech is because UTs off line hasn't looked very good yet. Their offense as a whole doesn't seem to be clicking. Maybe they've just been in cruise control waiting for this game.

I've seen a lot of people say that it could be a close game thru 3 and then in the 4th UT will pull away. I think it's the opposite, if Tech can weather the storm of the 1st qtr emotion UT will have then I think they'll be ok and the game will be tight. If UT jumps on them early it could get ugly.

Texas Tech 2 unit +18(total of 4 units)

I may add a ml line play on this tomorrow morning but I won't post so it won't count on my record.

Texas defensive backfield is not as deep as they need it to be vs Tech and more importantly I don't think they are going to get enough pressure on Potts without bringing extra people. Potts has been in the system for a couple of years and like every other qb in the Leach system, he'll know where to go with the ball if they do bring extra rushers.

Ra'jon and Franky Mitchem are not making the trip down. We'll be thin at DE and god knows we can make a name out of a no-name RB. Hopefully not. Turned down 3 Longhorn invites to watch the game and will be viewing this one solo. O-Line needs to play high caliber and nothing big on defense. (especially the back 4)

Rooting for a good game
