Cinci at Cubbies.
Not many bad things I can say about Wood. Plenty to say about the Cubbi offense, which is pretty offensive if you ask me. The last 2 games they scored 10 runs in the 1st combined, then 3 runs the rest of the game. The four runs they scored yesterday were handed to them on a platter by Hamilton. Deshields singled, followed by a Patterson ground out. Sosa walks after several borderline pitches, the McGriff bounces to Hamilton who mishandles it, probably thinking double play before he caught the ball, had to hurry up and threw it wide to Casey. DeShields scores, Sammy scores all the way from 1st. Then he serves one up right down the middle for Brown's 1st homer of the season. Hamilton was visibly shaken but calmed down and pitched good the rest of the game. The next run had to come from a 3-1 fastball to Clement who dribbles it between 1st and 2nd. Offensive offense.
Wood can shut them down for sure, but with today's weather combined with the Cubbie stagnant offense, -200 is crazy.
GOOD LUCK TODAY!!
