Southern Cal enters this contest with a week of rest while the Bears will be playing their sixth game of the season. Cal will welcome the return home knowing they face Oregon St next week before enjoying a week of rest. Cal ended a two-game losing streak at Champaign but once again found themselves fighting in the fourth quarter to hold on this week for the win. The Bears tried to rally in the fourth quarter at Utah on national television but came up short in that affair. Usc may have taken the Bears lightly last year at home holding off Jeff Tedford?s club by two points for the victory. Cal trails the 10- year season series 4-6 SU but leads in the money column 6-4 ATS. The Trojans have lost four of the last five vs. the number in this series and six of the last nine when installed as the fav ATS

If the Bears are going to avenge the two previous losses at the hands of Southern Cal this Saturday they have to shut down the passing lanes of Usc. Cal has allowed 300 or more yards through the air in 60% of their games thus far (Illinois 430, Colorado St 317, and Kansas St 330) and Usc tossed for just under 500 yards in back-to-back affairs vs. Hawaii and Byu. Depending on Cal?s endurance this game might go down to the wire if the Bears execute on the field. Cal is 10-1 ATS as home dogs of more than three points off an away game while the Trojans are 1-6 ATS last seven when playing in their fourth game of the season. Trojans also stumbling in games before facing Arizona St dropping five of the last seven attempts vs. the number. Positive Usc numbers include 8-1 ATS off back-to-back SU wins and 7-1 ATS last eight conference road trips. If the oddsmakers install Usc as double-digit road favs look Cal?s way. Otherwise enjoy watching this cross-town rival this weekend.

RAYMOND, to your analysis on the cal game u are a taking cal +13 but your words are defending s.cal i think,
saying they are a more rested team, which to me means they will go full force the entire game where as cal's legs will be gone in the second half.
also by only winning by 2pts at s.cal last yr, this is saying "no let up"......s.cal seems to be one of this yrs solid teams and i think they wreck havoc on this tired cal team which is not returning many players.

Raymond---------------ASU may be 8-1 straight up against Oregon St. but " Master Capper" put a stat up on this site earlier this week that showed that the home team is 13-1-1 ats! Will try to check it out.
