ARIZ ST. at ORE ST. (-5 ?): Arizona State (2-1 SU, 0-2 ATS) looks to prove its worth as conference contenders and bounce back from a lopsided loss at Iowa. The Sun Devils have won seven of their last eight against Oregon State (3-1 SU, 0-3 ATS). This will be their first trip to Corvallis since '97, when they won 13-10 as 11-point favorites. ASU has gagged in seven of its last nine as road dogs and at a 2-7-2 clip in conference openers. The Beavers have cashed 10 of 12 as home chalk of 3 ? to 10. The home team is 14-1-1 ATS in the last 16 series tussles.

USC BY 31 - USC comes off a bye week after bombing Hawaii for 61 pts. on Sep. 13. Cal was forced to the brink by a below average Illinois team last week. Giving up over 400 yards passing to Illinois, Cal will have their hands full with USC's top two receivers who average 15 yards per catch between them. For a USC team who has beaten every opponent it's faced by an average score of 21 pts. thus far, I see no reason why this won't continue versus a much weaker opponent in Cal. We've seen what USC's defense can do and we know that Cal will give up points. USC is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball while Cal has mediocre players at best. Just like last week with Texas vs. Rice, this is another mismatch in talent that I feel will show up on the scoreboard. While USC has been home resting, Cal has played 5 straight games already this year! I believe those legs will be very tired and will not be able to keep up with the speed that USC has. My gut instinct on this game is that USC will dominate on both sides of the ball, jump out quick and never look back............USC 48 CAL 17
