I haven't done a write-up on Vandy this year because I haven't played them but once. Got a push against LSU. They have a lot of problems (see how smart I am to have picked up on that). They had LSU on the ropes and then Wiliams got hurt. That's the big guy they were running behind. They haven't been able to replace him. The receivers are having trouble catching Smith"s passes. They were looking for Washington to be their top receiver this year coming back off a season ending injury from last year. It looks to me like he's afraid of getting hurt again and I can't say I can blame him. The mental part of catching those balls in traffic is as important as their ability to catch them. Larry Smith is not a bad qb. He's young and not getting much help from the line. His youth is evident in the fact that he is weak in picking up his second and third receiver. You can't zero in on your primary receiver from the time the ball is snapped and not expect him to draw traffic. They have had a ton of injuries this year at key positions and the coaching has been very predictable. Now, on the plus side. Larry Smith as he should be is getting better every game. Vandy has four really good running backs (more than I've ever seen there at the same time). Norman is a hoss. Their d is for real and has kept them in every game. When you are on the field as much as they have been you are going to give up a couple of big plays. However if the offense had scored when it should have, those big plays wouldn't have mattered.

As I said several times last year, if Vandy covers today they win straight up. I'm going for half a unit on the ml.

Good luck everyone
