1-0 yesterday. I've got to get this off my chest. In fifty years of watching Vandy basketball, last night was the worst I've seen a Vandy team play, ever. I've seen them get crushed by good teams and bad teams but I've never got the feeling that they didn't play as good as they could play on that night. I've commented in the past that if you over sub in a game your team will get out of sync or maybe never get in sync. In the first half Kevin subed 22 times, an ave of two players every 2 min. None of Vandy's players were in foul trouble. Western subed 20 times. Mostly because of foul trouble. As bad as they looked, Vandy had a one point lead. In the second half WK subed 10 times while Kevin was running them in at a rate of 2 players per min. 40 times in a half. Part of that was at the end of the game where he was subbing offense/defence but the odd thing is that he was subbing 4 at a time and it wasn't always the same 4. The only player he left in the game was Taylor who just happened to get 21 points and 9 boards. There is no way a team can get in sync when no group is together over 3 min. He's got these kids so shook up that it will take a miracle to get them back to where they should be. Well at least they scored enough to get me the over last night.
