Stony Brook -3 over Vermont **** { 11.00 am}
Early game for the Amer. East finals...teams are almost even...both play good defense and low scoring on offense...Cats blew SB out of their gym a few weeks ago 68-49...but way back SB won by 6 in Long Island....Vermont has been to the dance many times...last yr SB lost by 2 after leading by 15 to BU in the finals...In the AE the tourney site goes to the the reg season champ..SB beat out Ver by 1 game...something like 25 of last 28 champs games ..the home team won...Pritchard gym today is sold out..it seats around 3,500 but they have 5,000 showing up..kids will be sitting in the rafters....it is a tough place to play...SB is 13-0 at home this yr...they return almost their entire team from lyr...they have never gone to the big dance.Both teams won in OT in their last games...SB won by a tip in at the buzzer....they got their scare Ver won in double OT...this morning I think they handle the cats....this gym is a small gym..the bleachers are right on top of you...big time home court adv. Many moons ago I played at SB in the regional finals...despite the place packed with Long Island fans and about 30 of my own fans I won by a few. We were the better coached team..lol..just kidding..I had a big time stud and I made sure every 3rd pass went to him....On a neutral site I would take the +3 and Vermont... but not today...Stony Brook is going to the dance......back later with a few more...
