Johnnies -7 over Niagara **** strong play
I know its the Johnnies 1st game out of NYC.Still an inconsistent team but think there is a big matchup problem for Niagara today playing at home.Johnnies have a big frontline vs NU's. NU has no post defense what so ever.Nu has lost 4 games by more then 12 pts.Valpo,Binghamton,Akron,Buffalo,Siena,etc.Teams with inside players and frontlines have really caused the Purple from stopping anyone.
Johnnies have 6'10 Hamilton,6'9 Spears and now starting in their last 3 wins 6'11 Jasuilonis. Not a scorer but a big presence in the paint esp on defense.Mason at 6'7 and instant O off the bench 6;7 Calhoun who get get more playing time each game.Juco gd transfer Patterson is leading the team in scoring and you still have last yrs 2 starters Hill and Lawrence. Hill has a bad knee but did play vs St Fran the other nite and scored 11.Hill has the ablity to be a top BE gd but has such a low b-ball IQ.Roberts has done a good recruiting job but has not impressed me as a bench coach. He does some strange things with his team.
Purple are in a down yr. After dominating the MAAC for yrs there having trouble scoring and playing defense. They have no big man or post player. There geting killed with teams posting up.They'll do good in the MAAC considering there are only 3 or 4 post players in that league. But the Johnnies today should pound the ball inside.Brown has been NU's savior avg 18 pts a game and 10 bds.Duffey and Brooks are the typical MAAC at fds 6'7. NU loves to shoot the 3 but there having problems this yr. NU is last in almost 12 catogories in the MAAC even though I know there not vs MAAC teams.but there last in defense,rebounding,3 pt FG*.3pt,FG%,and at the bottom in scoring,FT %,etc, etc
Johnnies gds are fast and athletic. There inside players should dominate.Johnnies have some wing slashers that should cause penetration problems.Like them to win this on the rd by double digits...but sometimes the Storm play on the level of who there playing.

Will be back later to explain some others

Rider-Siena
Nova -10.5 over Drexal ***
Hall -7 over penn St **

Am 3-0-1 in MAAC games so far. But the push in Marist game was a killer.Marist had it won and covered. Up 13,20 seconds, Brady subbed ,and foxes let Canisius score an uncontested layup. made it an 11 pt game. marist throws it at midcourt with 16 seconds left..canisius has no one back...its 1 vs none for a layup but the marist player dribbles towards the basket and turns around..kills the clock. as a former coach thats great sportmanship...but damn...

Agree with you re: Niagara. What is killing them is their many suspensions resulting back to a incident at a bar last August; so many players were suspended that they had to stagger the suspensions so that they would have 8 on the team during the season...right now their best player is out and it must be really tough to play not only short-handed but with different guys going in and out.

Nice MAAC record. I'll takey our push over my loss any day.

gl today.

superbook..losing the Fisher kid hurt big time with the knee injury. think he's coming back in a week or 2.he can flat out and play.Love Mihalich as a coach. he can out coach Roberts in 2 seconds.Him getting Brown from kent st was great. with fisher and brown the Purple will be back in the MAAC pack by jan and feb. But now there hurting. In my crazy i method of capping I had the game at -9. It opened ay -7 and i liked that a lot. Now its -6..Johnnies should win this by double figures. But Roberts scares me as a coach.Think he's over his head in the BE. Might of been a great asst at kansas but lyr he was lost at critical times at the end of games.I think twice he tried to put players back in the game..but they already fouled out..oops

I thought Fisher was out with the 8-game suspension? He's set to come back for the Iona game on 12/19...let's circle that one...they also get the big kid from Northeastern eligible on 12/16 and then he has to serve his 2 game suspension....

Interested to hear what you think about Rider-Siena.

Really glad to see your post. Everything you say on Niagara is dead on, I'm local and have seen them. I didn't know much about SJU this year but if their big guys can score , game over. Just nothing inside, especially with Brown and Duffey loving to hoist the threes. They hit everything early vs. Buffalo, up double digits, then just wilted early second half. Think it will be same here. Hasn't been any home cooking at Gallagher Center this year and they have shot awful there.

Actually concerned with line dropping from 7.5 to 6. Sensing a back door cover but still will lay the points on an anti-Niagara bet. I won with them at St Bon. and won fading them v. UB. Team has not shown much character to date, either the 3's are falling or they look bad on offense. Defense has never been strongpoint and they just can't stop anybody down low. Brown trying valiantly but he is natural swingman.

Hopefully, SJU coach can just roll out the ball, sit back, weather early storm, and not worry about overcoaching,

Fisher was their best player last year and will complement Brown when he returns in 2 games but they need the big transfer from Northeastern to provide an inside presence. Benson Egonyme is allegedly a shot blocker and you don't see too many of those in the MAAC. But he's on crutches and not expected back until after the new year.

Johnnies -5.5 ***** stronger play with line
Don't know why line dropped so much..but I'm not scared..famos last words. If Johnnies bring there 'a" game to Niagara and NU plays there "a" game Johnnies win by 10.

Rider +6 over Siena *
battle of the 2 best post players in the MAAC. Haddix vs Thompson. Think this game stays close.

Nova -10 over Drexal *** * strong play
Like the Cats to win this by 15-20.don't think Drex can handle Nardi,Sumpter and co.Drex lost to rider on the rd by 8.Nova covers this easy.

Utah +2.5 over URI *

Princeton -5.5 over Rutgers *
RU's offense is so bad and there defense will be chasing Tigers from behind with all the backdoors.small play because Tigers aren't that good.

USC -3 over G-Wash *
a little more athletic..

Seton hall -7 over Penn St ***
Like the hall here. There much quicker.Watched the hall last saturday courtside.Harvey the frosh gd is going to be a star once he learns to stop shooting.Bobby G has these guys playing motion offense. Nutter,Gaines and co to fast.

Geo tech -3.5 over Vandy **
Hewitts got some scorers.Don't think Vandy defense can stop these guys.

So Fl +2.5 over ECU *
be back tonite...gl

Rt side...I think there play them tough but Johnnies gd can play even up at top.If Johnnies play Brown tough NU is in big trouble.Duffey and these guys like to hoist the 3's.think Roberts will play these guys tight. The only fear I have is the coach..Kinda sad to say but...GL
