If Iona could just stop somebody on defense they would be awesome...Mason leads the country in scoring...he alone should be able to keep the Purple close...maybe Mason gets 50 today...
Siena -1.5 over Rider *
Rider is the better team but on the rd could be in trouble. Pastos has his Saints playing some good ball...great coach coming from Loy Md...
Manhattan -13 over Fairfield **
That is a lot of points but the Stags are so bad..Jaspers can score and play D...
OU +6.5 over Texas ***
OU has the leading scorer in the B-12 in Clark...and Spanger inside...both are only 6'7 and 6'8...but OU gds Woodward,Hield and Cousins from my area in NY are solid...Texas who played Mich St even for a half have a huge advantage inside with Ridley and Holmes...throw in Ibeh on defense and these guys are a shot blocking force....UT gds play great defense and are athletic but no one is a pure shooter..they can penetrate but once you stop that they have to depend on ball movement and open shots...OU is as athletic as texas and think can stay with them and win outright...these 2 teams are so young... OU starts 1 frosh,3 sophs and one senior...Texas has 2 frosh,2 soph and one jr....think this game stays close..Texas is 11-2 playing mostly weak teams at home...OU is also 11-2 ....OU has the talent to win this outright....going to the game tonight...
Ark St -3 over Tex St ******
Love Ark St today...they are coming off a big win at UTA...No one expected 6'10 Houston transfer Van Slyke to have this big of an impact..he is leading the team in scoring{16 pts and 21 blocked shots} Two new comers Reed and Johnson -3 are scoring in double d's..they have 3 gds that can hound you and put pressure on anyone...mucho steals..also a stat I love is they have 3 players with over 24 assists each...the way they are playing they could win the Sun Conf....Texas State...1st of all Kasper the coach is really good..I can see why he had so much success at SF Austin...he has these kids playing some hard ass hoops..defense,hustle,ball movement,etc...but he needs some more talent..sitting right between him and UARL team the other nite you can see his frustration...Bobcat super star is still in the dog house...he doesn't start and comes off the bench..but he has some emotional problems..really shouldn't call him a head case..so talented but drive Kasper nuts..he lost his man on a play and Kasper jerked him out..an arguement occured on the bench..Kasper told him to ' sit the F...down...Wright wouldn't sit ,walked over to the water waving his hands up and down..asst coach had to calm him down..he never got back until the 2nd half...and the game ended with Tex St down by 1,6 seconds left..with the ball... Wright gets it and and instead of shooting drives to the basket...7'0 Nieghbour steps in and draws an off foul on Wright..the 200 fans in the gym went crazy but it was a good call..Wright just put his head down and drove to the basket...Tx St loses by 4...after they foul...but the best part of the play was I hear Kasper set the final play...Hawkins to penetrate but kick it out..don't let Nieghbour block another shot.. Wright is to step inside the paint and a screen will come...take the elbow open jumper...DON"T DRIVE TO THE BASKET" Don't want a blocked shot... a few seconds later..Hawkins penetrates,perfect...Wright gets the ball at the elbow,...in fairness to him it wasn't an total open jumper but a dribble or move would of given him a good luck...but he drove to the basket and before he went up Nieghbour was there...ahhhh
Not sure after that Wright is still playing..he got right into the refs face screaming...I cannot believe he didn't get a tech...he was waving his hands is disgust...asst coaches and players had to grab him...fans are screaming thinking it was a bad call...but I was happy because I had UARL +3.5....
