mets

Tom Glavine has been the winningest pitcher in
baseball this year (+$1265, 3.48 ERA), with the
Mets coming out on top in 16 of his 19 starts. So
how can we pass up an opportunity to use him at
a pick 'em price against a Chicago team that is only
11-21 (-$1070) vs. lefthanders in 2006, including a
pitiful 5-12 mark at Wrigley Field, with an average of
only 3.6 runs per game? The Mets have turned a nice
profit on the road vs. righties (23-15, +$690) and they
have averaged 6.3 runs per game in day games this
year. Carlos Zambrano has a 5.40 ERA in his last 3
starts, and has an ERA over 6.00 in day games. Go
strong on the surging Mets, as their lefty ace pushes
towards a possible 20 win, Cy Young season.

cards big

streaking Cardinals against this slumping Dodger team that is really struggling to get the job done on the road. After last night's shutout loss at St. Louis, L.A. has now dropped 10 of its last 11 on the road.

And the boys in blue are equally bad at new or old Busch Stadium, where they have dropped 10 of their last 11 after losing the first two games of this series. Meanwhile, the Redbirds have won five straight and appear to have gotten their swagger back.

St. Louis really plays well during the daylight hours (25-9 this year) and they hit lefty starters well (.282). The Cards will jump on L.A. starter Mark Hendrickson (4-10), who has yet to record a victory for the Dodgers since being aquired from Tampa Bay.

He's 0-2 with a 6.75 in his career versus St. Louis and he was roughed up in his last start when he gave up five earned runs in six innings of work. And it's not like he's going to get a lot of offensive support from this Dodger team that hits only .254 on the road.

St. Louis is 14-5 versus L.A. the last three seasons and the Cards should get a bounce back outing from Jeff Suppan, who is 4-1 with a 3.54 ERA at home this year. St. Louis is playing the better baseball at this early stage of the second half and the Redbirds will prevail today.

Ray I am a fan of yours ever since that Total Tip in Philly a few years back, and your info hear is screaming a play on the Metropolitans, thus the line should be what like NYM -130+ or so? yet the line is +105 as I type. Either the LM wants the dead duck fav player on the Cubbies or somethink stinks ???
