Glad to have you back Raymond. I like these 3. May have to parlay them.

pass on georgia . got a tip[ on vandy:shrug:

This is a boatload of points for Vandy (10-1 ATS run as a road dog) to be getting today in Athens to a Georgia team that has struggled offensively all season long. The Dawgs have gotten unsteady QB play from all three of its passers this year and they've been hurt by a so-so receiveing unit to repeatedly drops passes. Georgia QB Joe Tereshinski (2 picks, 1 fumble last week versus Tennessee) has missed most of four games this year with an ankle injury and hasn't built up in confidence in his receivers. Georgia will struggle to put up points today against a Vandy defense that is very opportunistic (14 forced turnovers) and ranks 32nd in the country is scoring defense (16.8 ppg). Last week they held Ole Miss to just 179 total yards and only one first down on 12 third-down plays. The Commodores' defense will keep them in this game and give them the opportunity to win this game outright.

Georgia's defense is good, but not great as Tennessee demonstrated last week in the second half (Dawgs had just one sack and gave up 268 yards passing). Vandy QB Chris Nickson, who is OK and will play after hurting his ankle and thigh last week, has really improved this year playing against some tough defenses (Michigan, Alabama, Arkansas). Against Ole Miss last week, he was 11-for-13 passing for 95 yards and a score, while also running eight times for 49 yards before leaving the game with the injuries. He's got some real talent at the receiver positions, especially with Earl Bennett, who caught 10 balls for 179 yards last week. The running game has shown some life in recent weeks and Vandy will be able to effectively move the football and control clock.

Vandy doesn't beat itself and after committing just two penalties last week, the Dores are the fourth-least penalized team in the country. Gotta love a team that forces turnovers and while not taking penalties. Vandy played at Michigan for four quarters, should've won at Alabama (13-10 loss), and statistically dominated Arkansas in a disappointing home loss. Bobby Johnson's team is in search of a signiture win. Last year, they eneded a prolonged losing streak to Tennessee by winning in Knoxville. The Dores have dropped 11 straight to the Dawgs and feel like they can end the losing streak today in Athens. Georgia's offense has reallyt struggled the last three weeks (14 points against both Colorado and Ole Miss before last week) and the Dawgs are not playing with a lot of confidence. Vandy will stay inside this number all day long and it wouldn't surprise me if the Dores won this one outright!

The Longhorns are going to absolutely lay waste to Baylor tonight in Austin as they're going to win this game by at least 45 points. The Horns looked good last week in taking care of Oklahoma and they have not experienced a letdown after the Sooners in years past (8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS). Baylor has lost its last five games to Texas by an average losing margin of 45 points. The Bears have been blanked in four of their last seven versus Texas and it wouldn't surprise me one bit at all if Texas threw a goose egg at the Bears tonight. Baylor is making strides yes, but they haven't even gotten near Texas' neighborhood yet. Texas will score a touchdown the first time it gets the football (the Longhorn defense might score first!) and then the rout will be on.

With their triple-OT win at Colorado last week, the Bears are just 2-40 SU in their last 42 conference road games. They've also won back-to-back confernce games for the first time in 10 years, but all that's done is made sure Texas won't look past the Bears. These two teams are tied atop the Big 12 South standings, but not for long. I don't see Baylor generating much offense tonight against a Texas defense that force five turnovers last week against Oklahoma. Baylor is last among all I-A teams in rushing, averaging just 41 yards per game on the ground (2.2 yards per carry). Texas routinely stuffs the run and held Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson in check last week. Baylor will try to spread the field, but the aggressive Texas front seven will force Baylor QB Shawn Bell into mistakes that will lead to easy Longhorn points.

Last week, Colorado, which has a below average offense, ran for 276 yards against the Bears. The Horns' running backs will run through huge holes tonight and quarterback Colt McCoy (12-to-2 TD-to-INT ratio) will have an easy night to be effective. Texas stomped Baylor 62-0 last year and has shutout Baylor three of the last four seasons. The combined point total in the last four meetings has been 203-14! Mack Brown does not call off the dogs as he has routinely blasted inferior opponents during his tenure in Austin. This is going to be huge blowout as I expect Texas to be covering this spread by halftime and the Horns will never look back as they roll to the easy home win and cover!

Memphis has won just one game this year straight-up (33-14 over what we now know is a bad I-AA Tennessee-Chattanooga team) and has failed to cover in any of its four lined games. And now the Tigers are being asked to cover this many points to an Arkansas State team that feels it can gain this signature win today at the Liberty Bowl. The Tigers have been in dissaray all season. They've struggled offensively to replace super stud running back DeAngelo Williams and defensively this team has been so lost that coach Tommy West was forced to fire defensive coordinator Joe Lee Dunn three games into the season. Memphis has struggled to switch from its 3-3-5 defensive scheme to a 4-3 alignment. They have not been very phusical and that was evident last week when a UAB team that had been struggling offensively piled up 279 yards rushing and a seaosn-high 413 total yards in the Blazers' 35-29 win. West admits this defense is still in the learning phases and the dismissal of Dunn made this unit question itself. They're allowing 30.6 points per game and to add insult to injury, they're also banged up as three contributers - DBs Wesley Smith and Dustin Lopez and LB Sam Brewer - were injured last week and won't go today.

Offensively, the Tigers are not physical up front and rushed for just 77 yards (2.9 ypc) last week against UAB. Quarterback Martin Hankins makes too many mistakes (8 picks) and the Tigers will have their hands full with this Arkansas State defense that has allowed just 12 total points the past two games. They play solid run defense and the secondary has been steady. They also doa good job of putting pressure on the quarterback. Offensively, the Indians had five turnovers in last week's 10-6 misleading win (which is helping give us line value today) over Louisiana-Monroe. But they moved the football at will and freshman running back Reggie Arnold (93.8 yards per game) should find running room against this Memphis defense that allows better than 208 yards per game on the ground.

These two play each other just about every season as this game is an important one to the Indians and their fans. Two years ago produced a misleading final as the Tigers scored 21 points in the final 2:45 to rally for a 47-35 win. The Indians felt they had that one and they come into today's game with confidence after a solid conference start. not top mention a solid 31-6 win over Florida International in their last road effort. The Indians are a very live dog this afternoon and like Vandy, it won't surprise me one bit if they march into Memphis and steal this game straight-up!

There may not be a more difficult weak psychologically for a team all season than Jim Grobe?s Deacons leading up to this game. After getting off to a 5-0 start because of some weak competition, they were given a chance to actually Dream the Dream vs. Clemson on Saturday, holding a 17-3 lead in the fourth quarter. But when the clock struck midnight, it was like a gong going off. A botched field goal that could have made it 20-3 instead saw a 17-10 reach the scoreboard, with Clemson picking up the bobbled snap and returning it 66 yards for a touchdown. From that point it was a complete collapse, with Wake Forest getting out-scored 24-0 in the final period. That is more than just a single ?L? to drop them to 5-1; it is a crushing blow for this level of team. Now they not only have to try to regroup with a short road trip, but it is a trip to face an emerging N. C. State squad that has had a couple of extra days to prepare ? and using those days to review bitter memories of last year?s 27-19 loss at Greensboro, when they had two interceptions returned for TD?s. Those kind of miscues were not unusual for State last year, with a difficult transition to the post-Philip Rivers era, but now a new era has begun ? off of back-to-back rallies to win key A.C.C. games, Daniel Evans is on his way. And once again Chuck Amato has put together an excellent defensive front, one that can stack up the weakest Deacon ground game in the Grobe era, one that has only produced a combined 88 rushing yards through the first two conference games, with one of them coming vs. Duke!
