I like G.tech guards----believe they can keep it close---but they have the personel late in the game when they will be losing to get that quick score---some teams do not have that guy when they are losing---(ex.---Miami Canes when they played Uconn---)---believe G.tech can do this late. So to answer you question--I do not like Duke---but i'm sure they will be hungry

The Sports Network

By Frank Haynes, College Basketball Editor

DATE & TIME: Saturday, January 25th, 5:00 p.m. (et).

FACTS & STATS: Site: Thompson-Boling Arena (24,535) -- Knoxville, Tennessee.
Television: ESPN2. Home Record: Louisville 9-0, Tennessee 7-1. Away Record:
Louisville 4-0, Tennessee 1-4. Neutral Record: Louisville 0-1, Tennessee 1-0.
Conference Record: Louisville 5-0, Tennessee 2-3. Series Record: Louisville
leads, 8-7.

GAME NOTES: Taking a brief respite from the rigors of conference play, the
ninth-ranked Louisville Cardinals pull into Knoxville for this evening's
tussle with the Tennessee Volunteers. Rick Pitino's Cardinals have been one of
the real surprises of this college basketball season, as they are off to their
best start since opening the 1996-97 season 15-1. Louisville brings a 12-game
winning streak into this contest, and is coming off a 71-43 blowout of DePaul
on Wednesday night. The win moved the Cards to a perfect 5-0 in Conference USA
play and was their ninth of the season at home. As for Tennessee, it has lost
three of its last five games, and is coming off an 81-76 overtime setback at
19th-ranked Georgia on Wednesday. The defeat dropped the Vols' SEC record to
2-3. Louisville owns a narrow 8-7 lead in the all-time series between the two
teams, with last year's come-from-behind 73-72 victory at Freedom Hall
breaking the tie.

They say defense wins championships, and if that's true, the 2002-03
Louisville Cardinals are set to become absolute world-beaters. Coach Pitino's
Cards were masterful once again in Wednesday's C-USA battle with DePaul, as
they held the Blue Demons to a mere 34 percent shooting from the floor,
marking the 10th straight time Louisville has refused to allow an opponent to
exceed the 40 percent mark. The Cardinals also forced 17 turnovers and blocked
eight shots. Reece Gaines led the UofL offensive attack with 14 points on the
strength of four three-pointers. Erik Brown and Francisco Garcia added 10
points apiece for the Cards, who shot 48.3 percent from the floor overall and
41.4 from beyond the arc. The game wasn't without its negatives though, as the
team managed just a 3-of-7 performance from the free-throw line. Gaines has
been sensational for Louisville this season, as he currently leads the team in
scoring with an average of 18.1 ppg. Former Kentucky Wildcat Marvin Stone has
played exceptionally well since joining the team back in December, as he is
netting 13.4 ppg to go along with 7.8 rpg. Ellis Myles heads the unit's
rebounding effort with 8.8 rpg. In general, the Cardinals are hitting their
field goals at a 49 percent clip and posting an average of 84.1 ppg, while
yielding just 64.1 ppg on a typical shooting effort of only 38.6 percent from
the floor and 27.5 percent from long range.

Up by seven at the break, Tennessee had the nation's 19th-ranked team on the
ropes, but Georgia battled back to take the lead late only to see the
Volunteers claw their way back in the final minute to send the game into
overtime. Unfortunately for UT fans, a victory wasn't meant to be as the
Bulldogs pulled away in the extra session to post an 81-76 win on their home
floor. SEC Player of the Year candidate Ron Slay led the Tennessee charge with
29 points, matching UG's Ezra Williams for game-high honors, as he nailed 12-
of-24 shots from the field to go along with eight rebounds. Jon Higgins added
12 points, while Brandon Crump chipped in 10 in the losing effort. C.J. Watson
spearheaded the UT effort on the glass by grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds.
Overall, the Vols hit 46.9 percent of their total shots but turned the ball
over 15 times to the Bulldogs' eight. The Tennessee defense was on its game at
the start of the contest, as it held Georgia to just 24.2 percent shooting in
the first half. Slay has enjoyed a monster season for coach Buzz Peterson's
squad, as he is putting up 21.6 ppg to complement the 7.9 rpg he is tallying
as well. Higgins and Crump are also in double figures, as they are netting
10.5 and 10.4 ppg, respectively. As a team, the Vols are successful on 45.1
percent of their field goal attempts, with 37.1 percent of their three-point
tries finding the bottom of the net. The team's defensive stance allows for
just 40.9 percent of the opposition's total shots to ring true, while it
garners a +7.2 rebounding margin.

Slay can pretty much control a game by himself, and while the Vols are tough
to beat on their home floor (7-1 this season), Louisville is playing about as
well as any team in the country right now. The Cardinals will be hard-pressed
to keep up the furious pace they're on at present, but until someone, and by
that we're talking a team with the capability to do so, jumps up and knocks
them from the lofty perch they're sitting on, the pick will continue to be
Louisville.
