updated into saturday:
4 unit plays.... 0-1 (-4.4 units)
2 units plays...9-5 (+7.7 units)
1 unit plays....16-17 (+0.41 units)
=============================================
2 units......penn state (+7) over ohio state
2 units....utah (moneyline +135) over air force
2 unit.....oklahoma (-16) (+101) (pinnacle) over oklahome state (kind of a line play)
2 units....west virginia (-20) over central florida
without a doubt, the highest chalk ive played all year. and surprisingly, its AGAINST a team that i normally like betting on. but central florida cant stop the run, and wvu should just pound it and pound it down their throats. wvu has had a little extra rest to refocus after their vtech win. i just dont see the knights staying close here

might-be-gettin-greedy play: 1 unit....penn state 2h (+5.5).... bucks are not a come from behind team...they like to get out to the early lead and put the gm on the shoulders of their D... psu maintains this lead

ADDING: 1.5 units.....miami (-4) over virginia tech.
cant believe im doin it. but for whatever reason, this is another program that just defies logic on the road in big games. they come into hostile environments are continue to get it done. florida last year. boston college this year (hostile environment at the time). florida state this year. canes just dont lose these kinds of games. objectively, i gotta back em here. heart wants vtech to find a way, but head says it aint happening, and the number is fair
=============================================
nutshell write-ups:

penn state.......this has been a traditionally close series....points will be at a premium....bucks loss of drew carter is going to be huge imo...he doesnt get the credit he deserves as a solid wide receiver - the best they have on the roster imo...he gives the bucks the ability to stretch the field with his speed...big loss... bucks have huge games on deck to close the season....purdue, michigan state, michigan follow this game....bucks could overlook the lions....nitts have been lamely lately, but they rally around joe pa here and find a way to keep it close

okie.......line tells me okie....osu seems to be a public dog.... naturally tendency is to take the points with a top 15 underdog getting 2-plus touchdowns...line is there for a reason.... no better big game coach than bob stoops.... double revenger for okie.. osu doesnt have the defense in my opinion to really challenge this oklahoma team...sooners make a statement

utah....write-up below

west virginia....write-up above

I believe last weeks win at Indiana was the bucks first road cover since the Mich game two years ago. I doubt they do it twice in two weeks myself.

It will be also interesting to see where the total is set for this game. I can easily see a 17-14 game here.

Pinnacle has the total at 36 right now (down from 37.5 yesterday).

i knew osu has been lame on the road the last year or so (have cashed a handful of bets goin anti-bucks away from the shoe) , but i didnt know it was as bad as that. i looked it up and youre right. they didnt cover a single game on the road last year. they do just enough to win away from home- but thats it. i honestly (dont laugh) think this is a very dangerous game for ohio state and am thinking about putting a small wager on the penn state moneyline. by and large, this has been a very very close series year and in year out. buckeyes could easily get caught looking ahead to their final 3 games -- which are all against ranked teams (purdue, michigan state, michigan).

utah (moneyline +135) over air force
=================================
ended up playing the moneyline instead of grabbing the points. utah is either going to give air force all sorts of problems, or the points wont come into play. obviously, i think its the former. im backing meyer here and putting my faith in him to really have utah ready to play after last week's nightmare. the last month, utahs been playing excellent defense, allowing just 12.5 points a game --that is until new mexico dropped a bomb on em (47 points). utes were just outplayed in every aspect and made mistakes in special teams, which is uncharacteristic for a meyer-coached team. utes have performed very well on the national stage this year (wins over california and oregon). yeah both wins were at home and this ones on the road, but i think theyll be sharp here. the way to beat air force is the same as its always been. offensively, spread them out and make them cover your athletic skill position players. utah has them, and they employ the same offensive style that gave air force fits this year (colorado state ran and passed all over them, and earlier in the year, northwestern of all teams rang up a ton of total offense against the falcons defense. utah should be able to move the ball very well on this team. defensively, you gotta stop the run obviously. utah got mauled on the ground last week, so thats a little scary, but i dont think thats indicative of the kind of run defense they have. utes have actually been pretty stingy against the run before that game. utes bounce back in my opinion and get the win this saturday. this is a solid team thats coming off a bad loss. they'll respond to the challenge

like Utes ML too ...

2 cents on Boise st, i watched them play the Idaho game this year on TV here in seattle, and they mucked around with mediocre team, failing to punch in 2 gimme TDs ... they have exploded last 2 weeks, but as U said, who have they pommeled?

weird team in BYU, can they score, people might forget they did win SU @ NM after playing usc, that seems so long ago tho

vinne:

penn states program has really gone in the sh1tter the last few years, no doubt. but hes not the first coach to have a website calling for his head. hell, mack brown and ron zook have had one of their own for years. appreciate your reply, and what you post it correct, psu not playing well as a whole, but this is always a game they get perform well in for some reason. bucks/lions just play nailbiters and the dog is live here. this win could make penn state's season

I gotta agree with Vinny here. PSU may cover/win here but I keep on expecting them to come out and get it done and they just don't seem to have the offensive talent to win. Last week off a bye they couldn't stay within the DD number against Iowa, I don't know how well their O will do against Ohio State. JoePas is in trouble.

Not playing it either way Gman, so I'll just root for you on this one.

terrible play on byu. expecting a good saturday.

im upgrading the oklahoma play to make it 2 units across the board on all my plays tdoay. not a whole lot of games that i like. lots of games, but nothing overly appealing. but do feel that okie rolls.

re: ohio state. really feel that the drew carter injury is gonna impact ohio state more than people think. the kid si a great receiver that could really stretch the field. bucks offense will greatly miss his speed. this is a traditionally close series. nitts should hang.

geno:

west virginia had it on the 10 yard line with 2:00 to go and sat on the ball, then opted not to kick the FG on 4th down (which admittedly was the right thing to do) but youre right......could have very well swept the 2 units.

i had w. vir. also & what bothered me was the way their qb played in the first half, especially the int he threw in the endzone.

but don't like to dwell on past games & onto next week.

good luck to everyone!!
