Bad News ~~~ South Carolina's leading rusher, Demetris Summers is out for this game. Still has headaches from concussion suffered in last game vs Arkansas.

Good News ~~~ Summers replacement is a freshman named Cory Boyd from Orange, NJ. Arguably the roughest neighborhood in the US. Boyd is a diamond in the rough. Athletic, team player, leadership skills. Rumors have it crack dealers stay abreast of his athletic progress.

Holtz put QB Pinkins to the test and had a 3 way competition for the QB spot this week. Pinkins won out, but Holtz is closely watching his performance. Has 2 more QB's waiting in the wings.

Interesting selection with SC. I'm not sure how the Cocks stay close without turnovers. UF is actually a better road team this year. True, they have cashed in as dogs while not covering in Lexington, but UF seems to have too many advantages.

1) Although FSU is next, the game is two weeks away.
2) UF is still playing for the SEC east title.
3) SC is without their RB and their offense is difficult to watch.
4) History in Gainesville and Columbia favors the Gators by wide margins recently.
5) UF may be one of the 2 or 3 hottest teams in the nation right now.

Btw, I do like K-State, but I'm leaning towards Toledo.

fla,

Just a bit of local flavor here to help you out. Although S. Carolina is indeed playing without super frosh Demetris Summers this weekend (concussion), his two "backups", if you wanna call them that, are MORE than capable of carrying the load.

True FR Cory Boyd is my favorite to watch after Summers. The guy is just plain good. He's 6'1 210 out of Orange, NJ. Word is that he was Wisky's #1 target recruit for the RB position this past year. He is a power back that also runs with finess. You will hear his name a lot this Saturday.

Also watch out for true soph Daccus Turman who is another great young RB. He's a 5'11 235 power back out of Washington, GA. He has already proven he can play this year and leads the team with 7 TD. You will also hear his name a lot this saturday.

The whole point of this long drawn out ramble is to say please do not put too much stock in Demitris Summers not playing this week, because his backups are just as good, well...almost.

I started out loving UF on the moneyline (pinnacle -272), but I may not play the game after all b/c I've been hearing from my guy on the team that the Cocks are pretty fired up about this game (and yes, he HAS told me before when they were not so fired up). I may still play UF on the ML for a small play, but not nearly for as much as I was going to. My prediction is that once UF goes up on us we will quit, which is what we have done ever since the overtime UT loss.

GL with your plays, and welcome aboard. :D

Damn Buddy, didn't read your post. Sorry, glad to see someone else appreciates Cory Boyd. I can honestly say that I'm starting to enjoy watching him run as much as watching Meat Summers. That kid is gonna be a star. I just hope he gets the shots playing behind Meat.

One other thing about Cory. When my contact on the team was asked who has been the most vocal leader in practice/lockerroom, he responded without hesitation....Cory Boyd. Cory stopped practice the other day and called all the offensive players together in order to make sure everyone was on the same page that the season was NOT yet over, and that there is at least 2 more games to play. Not bad from a true frosh, just sad that we don't have any seniors doing the same.

i just gotta go anti-florida here. you know my respect for the gators program. but this just looks like a big time flat spot for the gators. very similar game to the kentucky game. gators are no doubt superior. but they play up and down to their competition under zook.

put it this way. spurrier is the coach i respect more than any coach in any sport. if spurrier was still at florida in the same situation, i wouldnt be able to back usc here. under zook, im backing the cocks w/o thinking twice. sounds like im capping a coach more than im capping the game. admittedly i am (to a certain extent). i just dont think zooks teams have that same killer instinct that the teams did under the ball coach. i think florida lets the cocks hang around.

addition:

1 unit.....alabama (+7.5) over lsu
everything that can be said about this one both pro-bama and pro-lsu has already been said in myraid threads around the forum. this is one of those "gut feeling" kind of plays. yeah, this is a visitor-dominated series, but this win would make bama's season. tide obviously has some rivalry games on deck, but to face the #3 team at home with a chance to pull the upset -- ill give em a try. bama has been tough vs ranked teams at home this year. they dont know how to close out wins, but they know how to stay close and play hard.

final play:
texas tech 2h (+10)
raiders did just enough to survive in the 1h. i dont see the raiders getting blown out if it hasnt happened already. i think theyre a live 2h team.

very profitable weekend. 6-2 and hit the play i wanted to hit most (3 units kansas state).

kansas state.....roberson threw a few picks, but all in all, a great day for him and - consequently - the cats as well. cats dominated the 2h and got it done in a big way

northern illinois...terrible play. knew it wasnt going to be easy in the glass bowl, but felt niu would perform well. they didnt. gradkowski abused the husky secondary. niu ran up some solid numbers offensively but most of it was in catch up mode. niu really went in the sh1tter late in the season

purdue under.....thought overtime was gonna jam me, but didnt have to break a sweat

eastern michigan... thats the play im pissed i didnt play heavier. theyre really re-energized and sherrell had a monster day running the ball

south carolina....usc came to play. i gotta give credit to the gators for coming back and at least winning straight up.

bowling green over....harris and cribbs went toe to toe and broke the scoreboard. in a losing effort, cribbs threw for 241 and rushed for 207. thats fuc/kin impressive.

alabama....simply put, im retarded. need my head examined for that play

6-2 weekend.coat-tailed some other guys and made a few extra bucks as well. thanks all around
