Big card saturday, here is what I have for sides I'm playing.
528 Ville -6.5 for 6 units ? a red hot Louisville team against a WVU team that looks good on paper, but beats up the bottom half (yes that includes GTown) and folds against good competition. Ville is decisively better at almost every facet except free throw shooting. It will be there D that is key though. As known, Ville?s D is one of the best in the country, and the last couple of years they have given good shooting WVU teams fits. This will be much the same with the Cards out early and throughout.
637 Oregon +4.5 for 5 units ? No way should Oregon State be favored against a conference opponent and in no perfect storm should they win 4 games in a row (even if one is against Bakersfield). I know, I know, Oregon is beyond terrible now 0-8 in the conference and 2-6 ATS over that span. But if they are going to snap out of their funk this is the time, at their in-state rivals home court. They?ve owned the Beavers the last couple of years, albeit with better teams, but still will be in this one throughout and should come away with their first conference W. Oregon State?s slow place will allow them to stay in it even if they go through a patch or two of bad shooting (which has been accustom lately for them). Looks like this one may edge higher, so I?m going to wait to place for now to see if I can get an extra point. Worked as it moved a point and a 1/2.
651 Wiscy Pick Em for 5 units ? Kind of d?j? vu to Oregon talking about a team on a slide. I should put those two with Notre Dame in a 3 team ML parlay and retire. In all seriousness, though Wiscy is on a 5 game slide, this game sets up well for them. 4 of those 5 losses were close games (well maybe not Illinois, but it was never out of reach). Most expected Northwestern to be better this year, they just didn?t think they had the goliath upset in them as what they did to Sparty. They are riding high and have as much confidence as a Northwestern basketball team ever has. However, if there was a team in the Big Ten that matched up well against Northwester and their methodical ?Princeton style? offense, it would be a Bo Ryan coached team in my mind. Their D has been suspect during their losing stretch, but it is time for that to change . Wiscy?s big guys have always dominated Northwestern and though their front court isn?t as good as years past, it will still get the job done as shown by the game earlier this month at the Kohl center.
654 UW Green Bay -12 for 3 units ? revenge time. The best team that Loyola has beat this year has been the Phoenix. Other than that their best win is against a Valpo team that didn?t have their top 2 scorers.. Green Bay was in foul trouble in that first game with 3 of their top 4 scorers spending considerable time on the pine. Green Bay is by far the better team and will be motivated to fully put away Loyola. Top seeds in the Horizon league host more of the games in the conference tournament so I really feel you are going to see the top clubs really step on the accelerator against the lower clubs
676 Portland +4 for 2 units ? the Gael?s need someone to step up in Mills? absence. St. Mary?s looked lost on the offensive end in the 2nd Half against Gonzaga. Portland is a decent squad and with the Gael's playing on the road for the second straight game, I don't think they find the way to work without Mills yet.
669 CS Northridge -3 for 3 units ? Matador?s on the road again w/ only one day of rest, but Cal Poly doesn?t present much of a challenge. Northridge has impressed me with how well they have played since losing Deon Tresvant. They are 4-2 in that stretch with the 2 losses being close games at the end. The far superior team that will win going away on the road.
GL guys. Have a couple of totals I'm looking at.
