alright, screw superstitions... i'm posting my plays today. besides, i'm in a tailspin and can't do any worse than what i've been doing this week. so here are 7 plays that you should probably fade.

526 pitt (-11) 3 units. speaking of tailspins, ladies and gentlemen, your 2008-2009 notre dame fighting irish. you'd think with the inside/outside combination of harangody and mcallarney (sp?), these guys would be better. but there are two things holding them back. 1) ayres is in a terrible slump. and 2) tory jackson is an awful, awful point guard. i've been saying this for 3 years now. whenever i've bet against notre dame, i cheer every time he shoots the ball. keep shooting, tory, keep shooting. and against a good point guard like lavance fields, he should struggle even more. the more he shoots today, the more he's doing pitt a favor.

527 west virginia (+6.5) 2 units. this could be the worst play of my life. louisville is playing great, and west virginia is really not that good. the line seemed almost suspiciously low to begin with. and now it's dropping? only logical reason is louisville looking ahead to uconn on monday.

531 washington st (+5) 1 unit. i have to take any points from the wildcats against a well-coached team like washington state.

558 marquette (-6.5) 2 units. another struggling big east team. georgetown has lost 4 straight, including their last two at seton hall and cincinnati. the loss of hibbert and wallace is finally taking it's toll. also, a revenge game for marquette, after losing at home in OT to georgetown last year.

589 Drexel (-4) 1 unit. wow. after an awful start to the year, the dragons have won and covered 6 straight games. who am i to go against that hot streak?

652 Northwestern (+1) 1 unit. have to go against the badgers, who have lost 5 straight games (yes, i know their last win was a blowout against northwestern). the wildcats have won 3 of their last 4 big 10 games (when's the last time THAT happened?). i just hope they're not looking ahead to their matchup on wednesday against chicago state.

677 Florida (+4) 1 unit. looks a little too easy, but i'll bite. i don't know if it's just the loss of chris lofton, but tennessee does not look good this year. the gators are playing great basketball. 2 of their 3 losses on the year were by 1 pt and 2 points. the other was only by 6.

alright, i've finally got this figured out. if i'm hot, don't post, because i'll lose. if i'm cold, post, and i'll hit almost everything in sight. strange. so now that i'm hot again... i shouldn't do anything. but i'm not terribly bright. so....

add one unit to northwestern. northwestern is now 2 units.

that florida play continues to concern me, but i'm gonna let it fly as is.

a strong lean on nebraska, but i'm staying off it.

as far as that pitt game... wow. everything went perfectly for nd in the first half. ayres hit a few 3's. zeller comes into the game averaging 6 ppg and hits, what, 6 3's? jackson didn't seem to have the ball in his hands very often. the 2nd half? very, very pretty. :)

and the wv game? i still don't know what happened. but i'll take it.
