===============================
* maryland over 148 (earlier)

* louisville/west virginia total 3ptrs OVER 17 (-130)

* arizona (+5)
* arizona moneyline (+185)
===============================

ostensibly, a lot of juice for a high # of threes to be made in the wvu/lville game. but right now, louisville is shooting 3s like theyre free throws (10+ 3s made in 6 of their last 8 games) and they should be able to abuse the west virginia zone. assuming this game plays out like its supposed to (and louisville is a justifiable 8.5 pt chalk), west virginia is gonna be jacking 3s on good majority of their possessions. not worried about their %. but expecting louisville to knock down 10 or 11 and then wvu to hit 8 or 9 themselves. think it would be an abberation for there to be 16 or less 3s in this game given the circumstances and the way both shoot the ball.

as far as arizona goes, they almost deserve an obligatory look as a dog on a neutral court. theyre proficient each of my 'big three' (great FT shooting team.... good 3pt shooting team, although most of that is stoudamire .... and they take reasonably good care of the ball). cats are one of the few teams in the country that can match illinois at the guard position. cant really knock illinois for anything. theyre solid all around. just think arizona is a very live dog here with all their talent and strong guard play -- a must if you want to compete w/illinois.

gl gman2--i would lean to zona too but shakur has really been a joke, 3-12 in last 4 games and proximity scares me--tho I never count out a Lute coached team, but they 60%+ fg of last game will def. drop ... should be good one!

If you like the Arizona moneyline, you would be better off going with the same amount on these three props at pinnacle:

147 Arizona by 1 to 3 pts +828
148 Arizona by 4 to 6 pts +1013
149 Arizona by >6? pts +560

Bet the same amount on each and the worst you get is +360 if they win, almost double that moneyline you posted. I'm on Illinois, but I figured you might want to know about the better odds.

I don't believe in jinxes so if you do happen to lose this bet blame me

but good call on the over 17 3 ptrs. barring a tightening of the rim at half, the bet looks pretty solid. the logic was there. doesn't hurt they shot the lights out. of the 41 shots so far, 24 have been 3 attempts

putting every dollar from the prop bet on louisville (-9) for the 2nd half. if prop bet doesnt come in, then that means world is coming to an end. never one to put a W next to a bet, but this is the first time im doing it.

louisville 2nd for a good chunk.

not saying wvu CANT shoot like that. if louisville keeps giving them clean looks, then the 'eers will hit 10 more. but really expecting the defensive intensity to be turned up. wvu cant score off the dribble and are prone to turnovers if louisville applies pressure.

first prop went so well that im trying this one in the late game:

channing frye (-4) pts/reb over james augustine

my logic isnt rocket science here. simply think frye is the better interior presence. both teams have phenomenal guards but at some point, its gonna be up to the big guys to come through. ill take frye over augustine every time, even though i gotta lay "4".

great call on mich state last night, too. i woulda played duke, but i got last-minute tickets to see george carlin, so i didn't play anything. i'll send george a thank you note... he saved me more than the price of the tix.

im so thrilled with my day that im having no shame.

throwing a buck on the arizona state sun devils in the womens ncaa tourney (+5.5) at 11:00pm. quintessential 'action' play. those broads play good D and have the proximal advantage.

to the bar i go to have some drinks.

rcx:

that was my sarcasm that did go through the computer correctly. when i said 'thrilled' i meant thrilled that (yet again) a team folds on me to potentially ruin a great day. its really amazing some of the folds that ive endured. getting ridiculous
