Saturday On The College Gridiron

Lots of information to pour over this past month, and lots of games to choose from today to get things started. Have to avoid the pitfall of choosing a full card on opening day.......a small selection of solid choices is my goal.


1)Texas/North Texas (under 54.5)

I looked at taking the points in this one, as I certainly don't expect McCoy and the Horns to be in top gear right off the bat.....................especially with Ohio State on deck. But then I realized that with North Texas not really expected to contribute much to the total (will they score even 3 points?)..............................that the "under" is the best play.



2)San Jose State(+20)

San Jose Spartans have strengths along both O & D lines, and I simply do not see Washington as 20 points better. The line started at 18 at most places and I thought that was high...............I'll take 20 right now, and watch for a very competetive game.


Looking at the night games right now.......more to come.

3)Tennessee(+3)

Been waiting for 3's to appear, so I'm going to grab it now.

A good team, at home, in a highly emotional season opener, getting points.


4) Western Michigan(+7)

Yes, W.Mich is a young team, but so is Indiana. This line started at 3, and has gone all the way up to a TD. I think it was correct at 3. Do you think the line has been influenced by the fact that it is the Big 10 vs the MAC?
