Man, I hate betting against VCU, in particular Eric Maynor.....he just converted a highlight three-point play to retake the lead for VCU. Zips had taken their first lead in ten minutes, but Maynor grabbed it right back, in an instant. VCU just got a trey, now up five......which is like 10 the way this game has been played.

I am hoping for the Zips to get my day started on a positive note, but its not looking good now.

A very interesting hour or so upcoming for ACC at large bids.....league is probably a good bet to get five teams in. UNC, Duke and Clemmie will be there with the remaining two coming from a group that include Maryland, Miami, Va Tech, Wake. I dont even count out Ga Tech or Nc State if either can win out in the regular season and make a deep ACC tourney run.

Anyway, Miami is up by 3 at the half over Maryland in a huge game for a bid. Perhaps a true bracket buster as the loser will have an uphill climb. Two weeks ago, the Canes were dead in the water, while the Terps were a whispered as a darkhorse for a deep run in March. Situations have almost been reversed, pending another half of basketball.

Both these clubs are in the latest ESPN field projections, Maryland as a #8 and Miami a #10.

Va Tech has exploded past Ga Tech to take a four point lead after trailing much of the first half. Right now the Hokies look solid to tie Maryland in the standings, who they've swept this year. Keep winning Hokies, you might steal an at large.

Should be fun second halves in both those games and the UK-Arky game, another big time bracket buster game when you look at the whole field. So, you dont need mid-majors to have bracket buster saturdays.
