starting with a small play in the mac championship...

central michigan (-3) 1 unit. i got the fever. the fever for lefavour. ok, that was fairly gay, not that there's anything wrong with that. central mich has too much offense and miami will not be able to keep up. if they shut down lefavour early, ontario sneed finally had a good game last week, running for 94 yards on only 13 carries. that provides some balance to this offense which makes it even more dangerous. not counting the game at clemson, the chips have not scored less than 34 points since 9/22.

Conference USA

Conference USA

central florida (-7.5) 1 unit. since a 2-game stumble in mid-season, the knights have been on a roll, winning by 21 (over tulsa), 17, 34, 14, 29, and 16. they started this run by rushing for 229 yards on 48 carries against tulsa on 10/20. during that run, senior qb kyle israel has completed 87 of 126 passes (69%) with 10 td's and only 4 int's. junior tailback kevin smith (probably NOT the same guy from the jay and silent bob movies) has been the real story though. during that same 6 game stretch, he has averaged 208 yards to go along with 14 touchdowns.
this is a rematch of the 2005 conference usa championship game, when tulsa won at central florida 44-27, outscoring the knights 13-0 in the second half to open up a close game. smith rushed for 108 yards on only 15 carries that game. i think the knights will be out to extract a little revenge on the golden knights, who are 90th in the country in rushing defense, allowing 187 yards per game.

la tech (+7) 1 unit. wolfpack in a tailspin after that tough loss to hawaii, losing last week at san jose. after a 1-4 start, the bulldogs have gone 4-2 with their losses against boise and lsu.

boston college (+4) 1 unit. bc somehow came back to win that game at vt, despite matt ryan having a terrible game (by his standards). he clearly struggled with the wet ball (sorry, had to say it). the forecast for jacksonville today is 69 degrees with a 20% chance of rain, so there should be no issue with wet balls. sorry, i did it again. anyways, i look for ryan to have a big game today. i would like bc a lot more if they would run the ball with callender a few times. he's a decent back who just gets lost in this pass-happy offense. with no threat of the run, vt will be getting after ryan all day. i still think he'll handle the blitz well enough to get the win, but damn... you're boston ****ing college. RUN THE BALL!!! ok, i'm done with that.

oklahoma (-3) 1 unit. the sooners have lost 2 games - at colorado when they were looking ahead to texas, and at texas tech, when bradford got knocked out of the game early. well, they won't be looking ahead tonight, and bradford is back. i like the sooners to put up a little more defensive resistance than kansas did against missouri.
