Nova -6 over Johnnies ******* strong play
1st of all they are playing at the Garden....Johnnies get no home advantage what so ever.If the garden packed in 14,000 johnny fans its still not an advantage.The seats are to far from the court.Also there will be a huge Nova crowd today cheering on their cats.Besides that Nova has a verbal commitment from NYC's top[Pinkston} Hs player so Wright knows that this is a great recruiting tool beating the johnnies at the garden.With Nova's great gds,Reynolds,Fisher,etc and there style of play it forces the Johnnies to play small.Johnnies Burrel,Evans,Brownlee and the rest won't play as much.Kennedy has been the big player for J's,leads in scroring,reb and assists.Hardy is tough with Horne and the rest.But Nova players can score where Johnnies struggle on offense.Mason is back and that helps them but nova's transition game is so explosive.Reynolds can just take a game over.Nova will play 10 guys and so will the johnnies.Both teams rebound well.Johnnies do play pretty good defense but think they will not be able to hold the cats down the entire game.Nova wins by 10-14 pts.Game will be close until the final 10 minutes....
G.Mason -6 over Towson ****
Mason has two solid fds in Pearson and Long.They have 2 goods gds and Morrison inside at 6'9.They play that half court offense that will cause problems for Tow.Tow will play zone.They have been getting beat up but led Dayton by 18 and lost by 5.But Mason plays tough defense and with there type of offense it will be tough for Towson to stop.
Dayton -7.5 over St Joes ***
Flyers have to much offense vs a weak Joes defense.Double d's win for Dayton.
Loy Md -7 over Marist ***
Not at all impressed with the Greyhounds.With Harvey out they have become an avg. team.Barney is capable of a 25 plus game anynite but is avg 13 pts a game.Winbush is back..walker is 6'10 and could give the foxes big time problems.The foxes are hurting..there 4 freshmen avg 54% of all there pts.They have only bauer in the middle..no post defense,can't shoot from the outside,can't rebound,can't shoot FT's.Think they will do better then there last 2 home games vs fairfield and niagara but they play that 2-3 zone..no transition..kaba shoots from all over..again there most promising freshman Prescott who had 21 pt slast week is out for grades...they listed the crowd at 1,400 the other nite...there were maybe 200-300..the same tonite..and that included the marist band.Greyhounds get a rd win.
