Plenty to like from a "dog" perspective today, I think. Will start slow, and try to get a feel for the day. I like two early ones...kind of look-ahead, underestimate the enemy situations.

Season: 4-1 +2.90

Notre Dame +21.5
Purdue riding high, inflated a bit with an easy day against a crappy Minny team last week, probably thinking ND is as bad as it has looked, with OSU on deck. Clausen probably ready to improve a bit, ND will have pride and the local recruiting angle to protect. Hoping a turnover or two will help them.

Tulane +41.5
Seems like a great spot to grab a ton of points. Definitely like LSU, but not here - definitely see them calling off the dogs in the second half, thinking it stays within reason. Soph QB making his first start and looks decent, pretty good balance yardage-wise for the Wave, so that will help them not get stopped in one phase. HC Toledo knows how to prepare a defense - team looking forward to national TV and sporting brand new uniforms - seems like the program is pretty pumped for this game. Maybe they make a fair showing for the $$.

Good luck today - back with more later.

Adding:

Alabama +2
Figure Saban to be as good as anyone in dealing with Bowden's boys. I like that this one is not a true home game (played in Jacksonville) and I'm not impressed with the look of the Seminoles with the new coaching staff - kind of look similar to me. I think Bama overall is a more solid squad and at this point I'll take the coaching and motivational skills of Saban.

Oregon -6.5
I respect Cal and their offense, but no worries with the Ducks and keeping up with them offensively - especially at home. Not sure any of the fans will still be awake by game time after watching them freaking out in the wee Western hours in the dark this AM, but this is a huge game for that program. I like the trends I've seen, and respect the head coach to have his team primed to perform on the National stage. I like the half point spread value and will side with the home team here today.

Wish I would have gone with K State instead of messing with the Duck game - oh well. Adding these for now, tonight.

I must be out of my mind...

Minnesota +24.5
I do think the spread offense, if they can protect the QB at all, might give Ohio State an occasional cause for pause. Hoping that the Buckeyes are going to take this one lightly, and that their offense is not super top notch to take advantage of the swiss cheese secondary of the Gophs. I'm hoping the 2nd half offense against Purdue might be indicative that the Minny offense might be starting to come together a bit.

Florida -17.5
I think that after noticing how many big teams had trouble today, and especially LSU's struggle, the Gators will pin their ears back and come through with a top performance. Auburn will not be overlooked, and I really think the athletes of Florida will take care of this spread with big plays.

Good luck tonight. I think I'll stay away from USC and Mexico...can't get a feel for that Trojan game.

Can't resist - get the feeling SoCal will start a little slowly on the road, and the Washington QB will have trouble most of the night. Looking for a lower score than expected.

USC/WASH under 56.6

All plays today are 1 unit.
