the record is respectable, but my money management has apparently been awful.
clemson (-7.5) 2 units. this is either a really dumb play or genius. i'm hoping for genius. clemson is just 2-3 on the year. they just lost to maryland, for crying out loud. they play at miami next week. and here comes 4-2 wake forest (who just beat maryland by 10. not impressive, but WAY better than losing to them.). so why the fuck did clemson open up laying 6.5 points? and why has it gone up to 7.5? you can't even make the crazy argument that wake is looking past clemson to a revenge game against navy, because they got their revenge in the bowl game last year. about the only argument you can make for the tigers is that they're out for revenge after losing to the demon deacons last year by giving up 9 points in the 4th quarter to lose by 5. and i can't imagine that's enough to justify a) the high opening line and b) the line moving up, crossing the 7-point mark.
wisconsin (-2.5) 2 units. this would have been a larger (maybe much larger) play, but i see way more people on wisconsin than i want to. again, we have big line movement that makes no sense whatsoever. iowa comes in 6-0 and ranked 11th. wisky is 5-1, but lost to the only ranked team they've played. realistically, neither of these teams is very good.
notre dame (+10) 1 unit. another play i really don't like. i have a tough time taking a team i know is vastly inferior (duh). but the whole world is on usc, and the line has dropped throughout the week. usc hasn't covered a game outside the state of california yet this year, plus they have a revenge game up next against oregon state. i cannot believe i'm backing nd against usc, but i think it's the right play.
penn state (-17.5) 1 unit. apparently this is the week for Plays I Don't Want To Make. psu is 0-4 ATS at home. they have no business laying this many points against a decent big 10 team. 77% are on minnesota. and yet the line has moved up. i gotta do it.
arkansas/florida over (58) 2 units. i have to expect a letdown from the florida defense after their domination of lsu. arkansas can put up points.
georgia tech (+3.5) 1 unit. i wish tenuta (sp?) was still the defensive coordinator at georgia tech, because he'd be pressuring the crap out of tyrod (i still love that name) taylor. but i still like getting over a fg from the offensively challenged hokies on the road.
