Rich Stadium will be a complete sellout on Saturday night with JP making his first home start. The City of Buffalo is pumped waiting to see JP and Willis making their first start at home together. There is a very eager anticipation for the new chapter in Bills football, but its a guarded optimism with a rookie QB.
As for Saturdays game when the Packers come into Rich this will be alot of fun to watch. Lets start with the Packers offense and we know that this offense revolves around Favre and Green. Favre is scheduled to play about a quarter and with this game not being at home I fully expect him to be limited as should Green. Packers had a mess last week at home in the rain with the Chargers and should have some problems this week against this Bills defense. The Bills are very deep on defense and are playing with alot of zip as was evidenced last week against the Colts. Alot of blitzing, alot of pressure and some great coverage. Favre and Green will have some problems dealing with this defense and the crowd to start the game and again I don't expect to see them much past the first quarter maybe a little bit into the second quarter. The difference of this game will be when GreenBays backup QBs come in whether its Rodgers, OSullivan or Nall. If they thought they had a hard time against the Chargers defense they haven't seen anything yet. The Bills are like I said very deep on defense whether its the defensive line or secondary with alot of players fighting it out for backup positions with the Bills. I honestly don't see alot coming out of the Packers offense once Favre and Green are gone from the game.
Bills on offense was an adventure last week with JP as it will be alot of times this year. One drive he looks like he couldn't QBack a high school team and the next drive he looks like Joe Montana driving the team down for the winning TD in a SuperBowl game and I am expecting a bit of the same against the Packers. Green Bay are absoloutely being killed with injuries on the defensive side of the ball and like Washingtons defense if you show up at the Packers dressing room they might suit you up and let you play some DAgain this won't be as much of a factor early with the starters but as the backups start to filter into the game the Bills will definitely get a bigger advantage by having Holcumb coming in after JP. This guy has proven to be a pretty good QB, not great but good and when you are talking about preseason going up against some questionable backups I believe he is the perfect guy to come in and take advantage and get some points up on the board against them. Even getting down to the Bills third string QB Shane Mathews you still get somebody who has had some success in the NFL, not alot but again against of backups should still have the advantage. And lastly the Bills have one of the best punters in all of football Brian Moorman and that really can cause problems for a young offense of the Packers being backed up in their end with a defense that has proven last week and the practice scrimmage against the Packers a couple of weeks ago that they are more than willing to put alot of pressure on the QB with the talent they have in their defensive backfield.
