First the recap from last night....

The double unit total selection put a happy ending on an otherwise miserable story.

Blue Jays +105 W

O's +160 L

D-Rays +182 L

Texas +150 W

White Sox +142 L

Reds-115 L

Anaheim +110 L

Double Unit Selection:
SF/Oak U8-105 W

Overall: 3-5, -1.70

Spotlight Selection:5-5, +3.25

Series to Watch: 3-4, -.45
It was nice to see the reds with a full line up last night, however it was the pitching that gave away game one. System dictates double the units, same team. A bit timid to go against good pitching but a nice price tag.

Cincy +160

Back with more.....

out the gate 0-3, which means perfect time to play a parlay....

so in raymond like fashion I will have a parlay later, but first:

Spotlight Selection:

Baltimore @ Philly -140

The phillies put on an offensive showing last night with a come from behind hammering of the visiting O's 15-7. This put a halt to the phils mini slump whic included 3-9 in the last twelve, and a sweep by the mighty Devil Rays. They look to keep the bats swinging tonight at the vet.

Pitching

Johnson
Johnson goes for the O's tonight and he has done well thus far on the season as he is 6-3, with a whip of 1.19. However all three of those losses came on the road, but on a side note all three of those losses were in the daytime. Johnson is a much better pitcher at night as he is 5-0, era 2.33, whip .098, and a K/BB ratio of 28/8. In the games he has pitched at night the O's are 7-0 and he is allowing the opposition to hit .212. In his last three he has also been impressive going 2-1, era of 2.01 and the opposition is just batting .180. In his last five starts the O's have won four out of five.

Person
Person is 4-5 on the year but that is a bit deceiving as the high octane offense of the phillies has only given him run support at 2.9 per game. In his last three games the phils are just 1-2, and he has a bloated era of 6.75, and the opposition is batting a whopping .339

Hitting

Baltimore
The O's have won the last four out of six in this series and will have to pile up the runs to get a game from the phillies. In the last ten they are batting just .239 against right handers. The O's have faced person before and have some hitters who like to face him.
Anderson .357
Ripken .467
minimum of 10 Ab's

Phillies
The phillies may have broken out of this slump as they put up 15 runs last night. In the last ten games they are hitting .249 vs. right handers.

No philly player has more than 10 AB's vs. Johnson

Behind the Plate
Brian Gorman
The home team is 5-5 in his last ten overall and have lost the last two out of three. When working a game with Baltimore the O's have won five out of seven, and Johnson won two of those games.
When working a gam involving the Phillies they have won three out of ten, and one of those losses was to baltimore. He has never umped a game with person on the hill.

Weather
Although I am not attacking the total in this game weather will play a role as it is raining with thunderstorms in philly.

You can see by the radar that it is quite ugly, and depending on the speed of the storm could be around for awhile.

Thge hourly report does not get any better.

also keep an eye out for Aces High thread as he was the first to report on the nasty weather.

With all of this said, i think my biggest worry will be that this game goes off tonight.

PLAY Baltimore +130

Back with some quick selections, to include my parlay....

nice info on balt, will update weather as i get it, in rain delay now.

hope ya hit tb, couldnt take em, but backed way the hell off fla. Penny's blister on throwing hand, and after seeing what tb did to the phils, anything is possible.

With ya on clev and bst{big time}, stayed away from sea though, seems to me this line is too low. should be more like 2-1 to me. but what the hell do i know, go get em.

thanks for the info Aces, but want to make sue you know that my parlay plays are not always my side pays. For example the indians play was great for the parlay but I did not play them straight up because I thought it was too much chalk. Seattle is the same way, although I have them in the parlay, I may not play them, and I may even play against them, and consider it a hedge for the parlay.

Just food for thought, may have a late spotlight edition due to a possible rain out in philly. (great wx info again, keep it coming..)

check weather update thread.

i dig where your comin from on the parlay teams. played parlays for a week, couldn't stay above water. would always lose that 1 game, 4/5, 3/4, sh$t even missed a big 7/8. got to be frustrating, so have backed off them for awhile.
parlays are great for takin big favs, but reminds me of teasers in NFL {oh how i cant wait for fball], gotta win both or all to win.

peace

Seriously, just stay out of the BS posts, ignore and they go away. I know it razzes your a** on a bad day, but you're too valuable to leave... if you need the time, cool. Actually I thought you weren't doing too shabby, but I'm not your accountant. Like you told me, it's a long season. Looking forward to your input tomorrow, but if not, I'M ON THE REDS HUGE, in honor of you!!
