The slumping Rangers try to snap another losing streak tonight against the Marlins. After dropping nine staright, Texas won the first game against the Mets this week and have now dropped their last three. The Rangers will look to the brightest spot they have had on the pithching staff over the last month, Ismael Valdes, to stop the bleeding. Since returning from the DL, Valdes recorded three straight wins from May 17-29. He has not received a decision in either of his last two contests, giving up six runs over 13 innings while striking out seven and walking three. Valdes enters 5-2 YTD overall with a 4.79 ERA in 56.1 IP. He has a 3-4 life time record against the Fish with an outstanding 2.93 ERA in 55.1 IP. Valdes last defeat was April 15. Expect him to pitch well and keep the Rangers in the game. We are getting a streaking pitcher at a good price and I have to believe the talented Ranger bats will explode sooner rather than later. Expect it to be today if Mr. Showalter has anything to say about it.
