Wright St -3
Wright St coming off back to back 20+ win seasons and this year should be another. Wright St has a tremendous back court, in fact the best back court in the horizon league with Vaughn Duggins and Todd Brown. They are a deep team with good bench players this year and the only slight question right now is the front court. If one of their big men can step up, they should have a very good season......Illinois St also brings in a good back court and one of the best players in the missouri valley conf. in Osiris Elridge...they were very good last year with 25 wins but lost 3 of those starters. Nobody will be overlooking them this year and Wright St will be ready at home. Elridge and Duggins will have a battle and I think Wright St has the better supporting cast.
Austin Peay +6.5
The Govs certainly arent as strong as last year but they still should be a pretty solid team. They return leading scorer and all-conf projected forward Drake Reed and a 4 year point guard which I think is a big factor....having those 4 years of experience running the offense, even if hes not a prolific scorer, is a definite advantage. Evansville returns all 5 from last years 9 win, last place finishing team. They are more seasoned and should be better but I think 6.5 is just too many points to be giving Austin Peay who has a great front court and lots of experience.
