iowa (+5.5) 2 units. i expect vandenberg to have a solid game today. no surprise, he's struggled against good pass defenses from iowa st, michigan st, and penn st. but northwestern's pass defense has been somewhat porous, allowing 280 yards/game and 6.7 yards/attempt. and they've only picked off 3 passes all year. northwestern also coming off that tough loss to nebraska, blowing a 12-point 4th quarter lead.

kentucky (+14) 1 unit. can a team that's 0-4 in conference be subject to a trap game? coming off alabama with a trip to florida on deck, i don't know how focused missouri will be on kentucky. since taking over for franklin against vandy, berkstresser is a combined 21 of 59 with 1 TD and 2 INTs. granted, that was against the #2 & #3 ranked pass defenses in the country. but i have the strangest feeling that kentucky might even win this game. or maybe it's just heartburn.

arizona (+6) 1 unit. the dog has covered 7 straight in this matchup, and usc is 0-4 ATS on the road.

texas tech/k st under (60.5) 2 units. doesn't this total just seem WAY too low for these offenses?

buffalo (+7.5) 1 unit. big letdown spot here for the rockets, coming off that win over cincinnati.

penn st (+1) 2 units. there's a huge motivational edge for penn st here. psu has covered 6 straight games. ohio state's road wins (1 point over michigan st and 3 points over indiana) are less than impressive. nittany lions find a way to get a win.

south alabama (+22) 1 unit. who would have thought we'd see UL monroe with a sandwich game this year? but here it is. coming off that OT win over wku, with UL lafayette and ark st coming up, take play a south alabama team that's 3-0 ATS on the road this year and coming off their first sunbelt win.

oklahoma (-12.5) 1 unit. hard to trust landry jones and bob stoops in a "big" game, but this will be the first team notre dame has played this year with an offense currently ranked in the top 50 in the country.

alabama (-23) 1 unit. yeah, it's a shit ton of points, and alabama could be looking ahead to lsu next week, but i'm not sold on mississippi state being all that good. here's the teams they've beat this year:

middle tennessee
tennessee
kentucky
south alabama
troy
auburn
jackson state

also, their only road games were at kentucky and troy.

i'm just saying the bulldogs really have not been tested this year. we'll find out tonight what they're really made of.
