Mariners placed RHP Felix Hernandez on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 2, with right biceps tendinitis.
Marco Gonzales was recalled from Triple-A and will start in his place against the Royals on Saturday. The Mariners are hopeful that it's only a minor issue for Hernandez and that he'll be able to return after a minimum stint on the disabled list.
