Ever notice that the term "hindsight" generally means a boo-boo by whoever employs it. You never seem to hear, "in hindsight, I did the right thing." Sheesh ... Looks like Yogi Berra's famous words came back to stomp others here, besides myself; I didn't touch the M's game (did 'cap 'em at 60%), but I was just checking out all the finals, recording some #'s, and was astonished to see that they blew this one. Hurtin'...
Reds closer Williamson burned my ass here (his 9th: walk, throwing error on a pickoff, wild pitch, home run, nice work) - at least that one would've saved me a little.

Time to move on...

In my case, I still don't think it's so much the system that I've been working on. I'll need a larger collection of stats, near the end of the month, to really confirm that statement.
Poor decisions have bagged me lately; I had the proper (F hindsight) play on the Cards run-line ... very dumb to add the large one on the moneyline (2F hindsight).

yesterday: 2-4 -6.55 (Cards play counting as 2 losses - money&run lines; 2-teamer another see-ya)
since once-promising return: 52-46 +1.5

I've 'capped 9 of 'em so far ... still haven't touched a thing.
Still a bit stunned.

A walk and some fresh air might help.
I'll be back in a bit with at least something.

Alright ... talked to an old friend from Calgary. Seemed to help. Good in stretches like these to remember that money isn't (nearly) everything. (Helps)
Seems the same dang thing has happened to me every June in BB - get on a killer 2 week stretch and then return it the following week. I need an accountant.

K.I.S.S. rule must be followed as my sister's engagement party is tomorrow (today).

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Reds@D'Backs
--no clue; didn't even 'cap it. Nothing to do with Williamson's nice work yesterday, just don't want to risk on this crapshoot. Gave D'Backs 56 w/Force (blind, maybe sounds better). -125 D'Backs makes this a crapshoot, and I refuse to play craps due to the ginormous house advantage
PASS

total (10.5) turns me off as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chisox(Buehrle-)@Cubs(Clement+)
--decent edge to Cubs bats, despite carnage yesterday -- Chisox few feasts this year have predominantly been vs lefties, plus Estes (yesterday) has struggled most of the year, while Clement has really been coming on lately. BP edge and home field help. Concern would be the fact that Buehrle has been better lately as well, maybe finding his stride. Cubs 64
Price: Cubs -130 (PV +7)
PLAY:
Cubs
1.3/1

8.5 might be low, unless at least one starter chucks a beauty. Check the wind. Pass here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bosox(Pedro++ and +++@Vet)@Philly(Wolf+vsSox and -- vs key Sox current)
--ugly game for a bet. I liked Wolf to outduel Kim yesterday, but Pedro is about as good as it gets, but there is the problem of his recent injury -- how long does he go, how sharp will he be -- and the problem of the Sox crap pen. Wolf is an animal, but Garciaparra heads a list of Sox who have smoked him. Still, 3 or 4 by Philly may be enough if Wolf pitches anything like he has lately. Call is Bosox 54
Price: Bosox -180 (PV -11)
PASS out

Price: Philly +170 (alternate)(PV +8 at 46%)
PLAY:
Phillies
1/1.7

Under is tempting, but 7 isn't as both these teams are capable of scoring, I don't like the Sox pen, and have no clue about the umpire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yanks@Mets I didn't look at. A lefty (and very experienced one) vs Yanks, @Shea, may cause them problems. Mussina may cause anyone problems. Price looks crapshooty with the 60 blind (Yanks) I have. I liked the under 8, now 7.5, but HP Winters isn't a hot under play like he was in 2001, and either BP capable of allowing 2 or 3 late runs.
PASS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angels@Dodgers looks like another crapshoot - price reflects this. Ashby was good in last, but vs Indians, and Lackey had a nice 2nd to last vs Philly, but hasn't impressed most of the year. Both bullpens solid, and this is at Dodger Stadium, but these 2 are no aces, scored 7 yesterday in a Nomo/Washburn game, and HP Poncino doesn't hurt either (over 20-12 last year, 8-7 this year with a lower strike % than last year).
PLAY:
over 8 -105
1.05/1

D'Rays@Marlins I did. Starting and batting edge to Marlins (and defense), BP edge to D'Rays. Silly me ... I thought Willis might be affordable for awhile. Marlins 68
Price: Marlins -250 (PV -4)

Standridge is a former 1st rounder, so anything is possible. HP Vanover (under 8-6 in '03, w/2 straight) has done 4 D'Rays games, all unders, but Marlins capable of scoring, 7.5 looks way too small, and Standridge has been mostly a bust so far.
Can't afford too much. Over remains merely a temptation.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
O's@Braves 'capped at Braves 62, leaving me a crapshoot with the #. Both starters too unpredictable right now. Over 9 is tempting but HP McLelland 9-5 unders in '03.
PASS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indians@Pirates 'capped at Pirates 56, another crapshoot line. HP DeMuth is 9-7 over this year, but strike % not too bad/low, he was 21-15 under last year, and he called a 4-1 Benson win last year (@Cincy w/Dessens). Traber may be solid in a short one, and Tribes BP much better lately. Concern here is struggling Benson, who has been "working on mechanics," and poor BP behind him.
PLAY:
under 9 +100
1/1
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I promised myself unconsciousness before 6 am ... would hate to break it.

'Capped Twins at 65. Like them here vs crummy lefty w/their best (this year) going. Sheets is allowed to have a solid start once in awhile, Franklin is a longshot for similar. BP edge Twins.
Price: Twins -145 (PV +5)
PLAY:
Twins
1.45/1
---------------------------------------------------------
I hope the Jays win, but refuse to play Hendrickson here ... Expos were killing lefties for awhile (better ones than this guy).
Didn't look at the total, but maybe should have - 10 in this matchup looks low (ie over) in fore-hindsight:rolleyes: .
PASS
------------------------------------------------------------------
Rockies 'capped at 70, circled, majorly - Roney (another 1st rounder) is a huge Q (unknown) and DID HOLD ROCKIES TO 1 HIT IN 4.1 IP RELIEF, JUNE 15TH. Jennings pitching quite a bit better lately, more like his ROY year, Rocks 27-13 at home, and the Tigers are the Tigers.
Price: Rockies -210 (PV +2)
PASS

Tigers have the better BP here, Jennings will probably allow some, Roney is a major X-factor, and Tigers have won one-in-a-row. These factors are keeping me off the run-line. HP Young 3 straight unders, though typically not an under ump; he's 1-1 o-u @Coors.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Astros Rosario probably the worst of a number of X-factors starting today - he was 5-7 w/4.03 era in 15 Triple-A starts this year. MLDebut. Valdes had recent shoulder woes, and Juan-Gon sitting lately, but I got Rangers 60
Price: Rangers -115 (PV +6)
PLAY:
Rangers
1.15/1
---------------------------------------------------------------

Didn't even 'cap SF@A's, or M's@Pads, as my blind guesses made the lines look like crapshoots. 'Capped Cards at 70%, giving me 2 70's in back-to-back days (1/2 yesterday). -200 only gives me +3 at 70. Should I double-up and try to get my Cards money back?
PASS
