With the remnants of a viral bug still cutting a swath through the Bruins? dressing room, coach Claude Julien said this morning that Peter Schaefer most likely will not play in the B?s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Banknorth Garden. Shawn Thornton, meanwhile, returned to participate in the morning skate and he?s available for tonight.
The absence of Schaefer allows Pascal Pelletier, who has scored 24 goals with the Providence Bruins to lead the NHL, to make is NHL debut.
Alex Auld, meanwhile, will get his second straight start tonight. Tim Thomas, meanwhile, said he?s still feeling the effects of the bug, but is improving. He participated in the morning skate.
