simple law of supply and demand

the teaching world will never change until they make it very difficult to get your teaching certificate and increase salaries

there is no incentive to do well

plus, mediocrity is rewarded

Make it difficult to get a teaching certificate? We don't have enough teachers even with the easy standards. Also, mediocrity is rewarded? How does that work in the teaching field? What types of awards or rewards do mediocre teachers get?

You are right the salaries though.

Teaching is one of those jobs you're supposed to enter into for reasons other than the money.
