The 3 Joker mentions I rated, coinkidinkally, all a personal 6.5 stars (outta 10).
(yes I keep my own ratings due to unkilled time)

Best SF I've seen, circa 2010 anon:
Cowboys & Aliens(2011)7*
Dark Knight Rises,The(2012)8.5*
Europa Report(2013)7.5*
Extracted(2012)9*
Frequencies(2013)7.5*
Her(2013)7.5*
Limitless(2011)8*
Looper(2012)7*
Mindscape aka Anna(2013)9* highly recommended for the Inception, etc lovers
Rise of the Planet of the Apes(2011)7.5*
Snowpiercer(2013)7*
Source Code(2011)7*
Super 8(2011)7*
Thing, The(2011)7* original still better

All these listed I've only seen once, so might change my mind subsequently--can't even remember
a couple of 'em.

I've seen several others like Ender's Game (great if you're 7 or 8 yrs old, maybe),
Gravity, and whatever else might come highly recommended but the listed I preferred.

Probably just a matter of taste, and arguments can be made about what truly is sci-fi and
what isn't but I don't give two shits about that.
i.e. the recommended Mindscape is only minorly sci-fi but what's in a label.
Nevermind the first 5 minutes of that where they allude to remote viewing--plays no part,
thank-Hendrix.

one more fucking run is possible, at least, ain't it?!?!

p.s.
I haven't seen Outlander but will check it out.

Limitless was a solid flick.

not a big sci fi fan but it seems to be nearly unanimous that the original thing was a classic....don`t like to watch a ton of movies more than once, but this is one of them....I liked the kurt Russell/Wilford Brimley/keith david remake quite a bitalso(is there a more underrated character actor around than keith david?.....that mofo is great in everything he does)...

another older sci fi that I`ve watched more than once was the first remake of "invasion of the body snatchers" with Donald Sutherland/jeff goldblum/leonard nimoy/brooke adams and veronica cartwright......I thought it was much better than the original....amazing cast...amazing dialogue...and that thing brooke adams did with her eyes?.......:mj07:
