i dont think the last administration is any less corrupt

we have 1 guy who apparantly lied under oath

not sure where all the other corruption is

You find comfort in comparing the current indicted felonies with past issues, I guess. You say that this one is not any worse than the last one. You say you are not sure where all the other corruption is (and anyone with a pulse that was being honest knows that there is much more corruption in this group than has been PROVEN, but I personally can wait to see it be proven.)

This is far from over. We have a prosecutor that is beyond reproach - based on comments by the right wing - that has been letter-perfect for two years and is nailing the Vice-Presidents' personal advisor for felonies. Who is keeping his examination and case open moving forward because he feels he has cause to do so.

We know Rove did everything he could possibly do to avoid an immediate indictment. We know he is still under investigation, which leaves the President and the administration still under suspicion, at the very least. We know that Cheney's main confidant has been arrested for several felonious counts. So, any person with common sense could assume the Vice President was a part of this.

You fellas cry about land deals and blow jobs. Most of the land deal crap was inconsequential and not proven. The blow job stuff is what it is, and has a place at the discussion table.

All of that, and I mean all of it, pales in comparison to what this administration is involved with. Maybe the last administration was avoiding things like land deals and blow jobs, but this one is avoiding things like being responsible for 2000 and counting deaths of Americans, releasing classified information regarding CIA agents, and lying to legislators and Americans about reasons to support their war plans.

There IS a difference in the severity of the crimes, and the study of them. We still have plenty of time to see where this administration takes us, and what it is responsible for.

Comparing the two at this point is a cry for help.

no one released any classified information

you are outing the CIA agent as much as anyone with your recent posts

lying to legislators and Americans???? is that what the Clintonistas did 10 years ago when they said the same thing about Iraq?

you leftists are ridiculous...get your panties in a wad over inconsequential things

maybe a guy lied, maybe he didnt...we will see....it really is not that big of deal other than for him

this one upmanship in politics is repulsive, and its about the only thing democrats can do these days and its tiring

BROOKS: WHY ARE DEMS SO OVERHEATED?
Sat Oct 29 2005 17:15:12 ET

Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald did not find evidence to prove that there was a "broad conspiracy to out a covert agent for political gain. He did not find evidence of wide-ranging criminal behavior. He did not even indict the media's ordained villain, Karl Rove," writes David Brooks in Sunday's NY TIMES.

"Leading Democratic politicians filled the air with grand conspiracy theories that would be at home in the John Birch Society."

"Why are these people so compulsively overheated?.. Why do they have to slather on wild, unsupported charges that do little more than make them look unhinged?

Brooks quotes from an essay written 40 years ago by Richard Hofstadter called "The Paranoid Style in American Politics."

Hofstadter argued that sometimes people who are dispossessed, who feel their country has been taken away from them and their kind, develop an angry, suspicious and conspiratorial frame of mind. It is never enough to believe their opponents have committed honest mistakes or have legitimate purposes; they insist on believing in malicious conspiracies.

"The paranoid spokesman," Hofstadter wrote, "sees the fate of conspiracy in apocalyptic terms -- he traffics in the birth and death of whole worlds, whole political orders, whole systems of human values. He is always manning the barricades of civilization." Because his opponents are so evil, the conspiracy monger is never content with anything but their total destruction."

Brooks summarizes: "So some Democrats were not content with Libby's indictment, but had to stretch, distort and exaggerate. The tragic thing is that at the exact moment when the Republican Party is staggering under the weight of its own mistakes, the Democratic Party's loudest voices are in the grip of passions that render them untrustworthy."

Spin away! :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

In truth I am saddened by the charges. Saddened because everyone who disagreed with this administration and it's lies was subjected to ridicule and repercussions. But I have to admit I really love the crying and the spinsters. Ahhhhh Clinton lied about a bj that's the same thing you know as lying about treason! :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:
This is precious.

Your joking right? Which party hired Kenneth Starr and wasted tons of funds to get the one upsmanship?

I think 75% of ALL politicians are crooked going in and 95% once elected.

Steve Any matter of treason coming out of this is as remote as a Bostonian needing a blood test before marriage.

Wow it's beyond belief that David Brooks would write a editorial blasting Dem's he such a reliable source even though he is ranked as the second most partisan writer in the country next to Ann Coulter.
