Score updates by phone????

Does anyone use any service that sends score updates to your phone by txt msg??

I tried using Yahoo today for the first time.... it didn't work too well... I picked the teams I wanted and for hockey it was supposed to send me an update after every goal... and for Basketball it was supposed to update me every qtr...

First of all the scores were REALLY delayed.... said Carolina was down 2-0 with 2:22 left in the 2nd... I turned on the radio and it said the game was 2-2 in OT.....

2ndly it didn't send me updates on every goal..... 3rdly it didn't send all the updates in order..

I recieved say the 1st qtr score of the game and then the 3rd qtr and then the Final score... and then later I would get the 2nd qtr score.... stuff like that....

so overall not very impressed.... maybe it was just a bad day for yahoo???

Are there any other such services out there??

ESPN.com does an excellent job. I originally tried Yahoo and was not getting the scores timely or at all.

I have wireless web through verizon on my cell phone, the phone was like $100 and service is less than $40 a month for a nice package, scores and SOME play by play are updated as fast as I have seen ANYWHERE. In football you get game situations as well like who has the ball and where as well as what the down and yards are etc.. I really like it.

There is a link from the first page in the left hand column titles "ESPN Wireless". It is free as long as you are a registered user.

Again, works real well for me. Very quick.
