Not much trouble with connections except in 3rd world countries such as Tajikistan, Zambia, and Mali just for example. But in uzbekistan they have high speed

As far as south africa, Joburg is a bit dangerous if you dont know where you are going. Durbin is nothing special. Cape Town was amazing. Wine, Women, sights, ect was awesome. It was pretty neat to have one leg in the indian ocean and the other in the atlantic at the same time. Smaller towns such as George and East London were nice as well.
