I don't know what the line on this game will be, but man, I just saw the Chargers reaction after winning the game today, and they are ready for a letdown - HUGE.

Tomlinson was almost in tears he was so happy, shouting "We shook up the world baby, we shook up the world!!!". GROSS overconfidence. They get Denver next week, IN Denver....and I see them getting smacked back to earth. This team is very young and if they celebrate this hard after one win, they have no idea what is around the corner for them. Can't wait for a line on this game.

You could be right, but Denver will be coming off a short week. Maybe both teams will be lethargic which makes it a great under candidate.

the other side

the other side

as of now...i am on the other side on this one i like the pt about a short week for den, also den is going to (probably) beat the hell out of balt and will not be ready for sd. den will have played buf and balt not the type of teams to get ready for a div. leader. it is however in den but the road is where great teams strive. no one will give sd credit still!!! before this game sd was like 25-1 to win the super bowl and new eng. same record was 7-1....come on i am not a chargers fan so i don't want this post to come off as bias, but you say they are ready for a letdown??? i just don't see that at all...once you start winning it becomes a habit as well as losing (rams)/(minn)..this is a young team and i don't think they know they are supposed to let down...just my thoughts take them for what they are worth

Denver owns the Chargers

Denver owns the Chargers

It's conference time now, and their will be very few road wins in this conference. Anyway, Schottenheimer has never done well at mile high and I don't think he will start next week.

I'm not the one -

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying the Chargers are ready for a full-scale crash and burn lose 10 in a row plummett. I'm talking about this one game ONLY. I've got plenty of respect for the Chargers. I didn't at the start of the year, but I felt confident enough in them that I bet them today...for very similar reasons. Only in this game it was New England that I saw that was ready to ease up. Tough rivalry games leading up to this one, and a big showdown with Miami next week...forgetting about this game looked like a very strong possibility to me from a Pats point of view.

It doesn't take much of an ease up to lose the edge. No team is going to be 100% on it's game every game, it's only human nature when you win a bunch in a row (especially as easily as it has been for NE) that they are caught off-guard.

You do make a good point about Denver's recent opposition, they do NOT prepare the Broncos very well for this SD game. I hadn't yet even thought of that, but it's a valid point.

Anyways, that's how I handicap mostly....looking at the situation a team is in right now. It says nothing about how I feel about the team in the long-term.

See ya,
Greg

As I said in an earlier post: Marty and the Boltz are on a mission...Don't expect a letdown yet! The superbowl is in San Diego this year and they want a new stadium. The only way they will have a chance for one will be to make it to the playoffs this year. Make it to the superbowl (A stretch I know) and it should be a lock!!! The last time they started out 4-0 they did make it to the Big Dance!!!! GO BOLTZ!!!!!

Chargers cant defend the pass, unfortuantley for the Pats, Tom Brady sucks. Chargers success on defense is because they are very talented and Bill Arnsbarger and his 7 superbowl appearances is running the show. Marty basically gets in the way. I look for Gannon,Rice and Brown to light this team up.

Patriots have been living a lie long enough. Tom Brady cant play. Broncos cant play catch, Bob Greise son is an alcoholic, Mccaferty has concussion and doesnt see staright, the heart of this team is now a Raider, Romo baby.
