Have to admit that I was very hesitant about going to see this movie, but wife made me go last night. Thought it was a great movie. Makes me want to buy a horse. I would recommend it highly.

Its gonna be a war, and prob. the best game all year. I hope you leave the "Cadillac" in the garage.

I have started to read the book.Have been looking forward to seeing the movie.from what I've read Hollywood did a great job.I think Tobey Mcguire is a perfect fit as Red Pollard. This movie will get a few Academy Award nominations.Maybe even for best movie.Just my gut feeling. Not a great movie goer, but like good, quality films, would not miss this for anything. One reviewer in Portland Gazette said it has been a long time since he's seen a movie that went 2 hours and 20 minutes go by so fast.

Just got back Jeri made me go long movie but it was good, The start was drawen out but i guess it was to explain the way things were back then. Not really my type of movie but as far as movies go it was put together good. Man was it packed. So even though not my kind of movie i say it was worth seeing.

Great movie...

Great movie...

One of the very few that equals or surpasses the book.

I'm pretty sure I've got this in the correct thread now :D

the camera angles were amazing...should win a directing oscar. This movie may help to re-energize the sport of horse racing.

Doughboy - before you buy a horse, you need to talk to me. I bought a few in my time and the only other investment I have ever made that came close to being a bigger money drain was a boat. Unless you have money to burn, don't.

I was all hyped to see it but then I watched a documentary on A&E, then one on PBS, and then I saw Charlie Rose's interview with the cast and director. Great story but I feel like I have already seen the movie without leaving the house.

Good movie. The only thing that soured me was right after one of his wins, the camera (inadvertedly) panned past the tote board and you see he was 3 to 5 in the race. 3 to f-ing 5??? Where's the feel good in that??
