2007 Record:
Small Size (1 unit) Plays
29-24
Very Small (1/2 unit) Plays
0-2
Medium Size (2 unit) Plays
8-7-1
Big Plays (3 units)
2-2
Leans
8-4-3
I've got a 2 unit medium size play invested in the Jaguars -1.5 already and I'm adding a small play to that for the week.
Small Play:
Seattle Seahawks -3 (bought the 1/2)
over Redskins
I'm going against the public and most of the media in this one...the Redskins are a sentimental favorite after the death of Sean Taylor and have won 4 in a row with Todd Collins at the helm...but...they must travel cross country and play in one of the toughest places to play in the league where crowd noise will be a factor...lost in the shuffle is the fact that the Skins are playing with a backup RG and a backup RT and will face a Seahawks "D" that ranked 4th in the league in sacks in 2007...I expect Collins to face the heat on Saturday...the Redskins will need to run the ball effectively to have a chance in this one and face a Seahawks "D" that ranks 12th overall in the league vs the run...on the flip side...the Seahawks running game has improved over the past several weeks as Shaun Alexander seems to have his legs back...but...I expect the Seahawks to use a bunch of 4 wide sets with their talented WR core and spread the Skins out to create mismatches in coverage versus a thin Redskins secondary...the Skins rank near the bottom of the league in both interceptions and sacks...so I feel the Seahawks offense could have it's way with the Skins and I expect Wr Deion Branch to play in this game...Bottom Line - The Seahawks have outscored their opponents 27-14 at home this season and are the least penalized team in the league...they also have a big turnover margin swing of plus 15 (Sea +10, Wash -5) over the Skins...the Seahawks beat the Skins 20-10 at home in the 2005/06 playoffs 2 years ago and are a team that is flying under the radar right now in the NFC....plus the weather is usually lousy in Seattle at this time of the year... but the Seahawks are used to it having played in these conditions...Seattle advances to the second round of the playoffs.
