IN an attempt to help this board (and my bankroll), I am only going to handicap SEC gmaes for the rest of the season. I usually do not post picks, but I feel if I concentrate on one conference, then it will help my record of late. Not posted but not good. I will attempt to be an asset for the remainder of the Men's hoop seasons. good luck to all.

The only game on the slate for the SEC tonight is not a headliner by any stretch of the definition. The visiting Privateers of New Orleans from the Sun Belt conference bring with them one major talent to deal with. Venezualan Hector Romero has led the team in scoring in 15 of their 23 games. He has led or co-led in rebounds 18 of 23 and in assists 5 times. NO can put points on the board but will struggle against the talent and depth of the Gators. Romero should be able to keep pace with Bonner (14.3 ppg), and if he gets help from his guards, Smith (14.0 ppg) and Meredith (41% 3pt), the overmatched Privateers should be able to keep pace with the 22 spotted.

Florida has been on a little skid as of late and this will probably cause many people to side with them looking for a annhilation of the lowly Privateers. I believe Donovan will have his boys focused and also use this game to see what kind of talent he has on the bench going into the final stretch.

I also like the fact that with the O/U at 140.5, NO will need to topple 59 points to give a guaranteed break-even taking New Orleans and the over. With Florida's running game, I like the chances of playing these two in conjunction looking for a clean sweep.

The stat that can not be overcome is if Romero gets into early foul trouble which Bonner has the smarts to attempt. Barring this occurrence, I see a push on the action at worst.

Action:
New Orleans +22 1 unit
NO/FLA O 140' 1 unit.

I have only posted one 10 unit game which i called it my s,e,c game if the year. it was ole mis minus the points last year against alabama, ole miss won by 30.
I will be looking forward to you post and good luck to you.

Thanks for the reply, guru. If you ever agree or disagree with my comments, I am always open to other ideas.

When I post plays, I usually wait up to one hour for any highly contradictory opinions by others. Unless, of course, I expect line movements. When I do get down on the game, if the number is different than posted in my original message, I will update it accordingly.

I have read your posts many times. Congrats on your record.

Good luck to you dawgball...I was curious what kind of unit system do you base your plays on??? 1-5, 1-10???? Look forward to seeing your opinion as I follow SEC basketball closer than any other conference.

Georgia @ Alabama (This Week -2.2 units)

Georgia @ Alabama (This Week -2.2 units)

Thanks for the encouragement Rebel. Didn't help much last night, though! To answer your question, I play 1-3 unit plays. I would say 90% of my plays are made at the 1 unit level.

Recap the loss: Basically, Florida came out to make a statement and the Privateers were the unfortunate bodies in the way. Romero was completely shut down in the first half, and the lead was too large to come back with heart. This also was the deciding factor in the Over not coming close to hitting as well since NO put up less than 50 points. Chalk it up as a learning experience.

On to tonight's game.

Going to be a disappointing night for me one way or the other as Georgia travels to the beautiful Tuscaloosa (Man, I love Dreamland ribs) and meets the bubble-team Crimson Tide. This is going to be the extra motivation for the players and fans to make a statement against the ranked Bulldogs. This is not information I like to say for obvious reasons, but I will be laying the points tonight based on the home court, bubble status, and the trend of taking an unranked team that is giving points to a ranked team.

Tonight's action:
Alabama -2' 1 unit

Buy-back if @ +4

Buy-back if @ +4

If the line gets to +4 at any of my books or local, I will be buying back this wager. This is based on everyone and their grandmotehr is on the Tide. I will also use it as a small chance for a middle.

Pending Action if line moves:
Georgia +4 1 unit
