A aggravated assault charge against Florida wide receiver Chris Rainey may be dropped if he stays out of trouble for six months, does 10 hours of community service and goes through an anger management evaluation. Rainey, who is suspended from the team, may be re-instated. Coach Urban Meyer said that Rainey will not play this week against Alabama.

Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus did not practice Monday due to an ankle injury. Dareus is expected to play in Saturday's game against Florida.

Ole Miss defensive end Kentrell Lockett is out for the year with a knee injury. Two other Rebels defensive starters could miss this week's game against Kentucky due to injuries -- cornerback Jeremy McGee (concussion) and safety Johnny Brown (hamstring).

Coach Urban Meyer said that running back Jeff Demps will play for Florida againsr Alabama on Saturday. Demps left the Kentucky game last Saturday with a foot injury. For the season, Demps has rushed for 367 yards on 53 carries. He has made 11 catches.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier will stick with Stephen Garcia as his starting quarterback against Alabama in two weekends. Garcia was benched in the fourth quarter of the Auburn game after fumbling twice. The Gamecocks are off this week.

Tennessee's No. 1 wide receiver, Gerald Jones, who has missed the past three games with a hand injury, will play against LSU. Jones caught six passes for 86 yards in the season opener against Tennessee-Martin. Jones also called out LSU CB, Patrick Peterson, calling him an "alright athlete" with weaknesses.
