Well I'm a glutton for punishment. After a month of watching college football I'm ready to dip my toe in the water once again and see what I can do.

Last year I was 49-37-3 on all of my plays. Hope that I can improve on that just a bit.

Alabama at Kentucky

Might as well start off with my favorite team, the Crimson Tide of Alabama. I've been very impressed with their play so far this season. Two big questions for the Tide coming into 2009 was how was QB Greg McElroy going to look and how strong was the O-Line going to be after losing Andre Smith to the NFL. I think it's safe to say that both questions have been answered with a resounding NO PROBLEM. McElroy has been scary good through the first four weeks of the season and has not thrown an interception in 81 straight pass attempts, dating back to second quarter against Virginia Tech (his only INT this season). He completed 10 straight passes against Arkansas and 14 straight against Florida International and has 7 TD passes on the season.

Think that if you stop McElroy you stop Alabama? Not so fast my friend! The Tide running game is steamrolling every team in it's way right now. Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram are a two headed monster in the 'Bama backfield and UK gave up over 300 yards rushing to Florida just last week. So pick your poison... because 'Bama will not beat themselves.

Defensively Alabama has given up 28 points in the past three games and 7 of those were to an Arkansas team that scored 42 points the previous week at home against Georgia. Defensive end Marcell Dareus has led the way for the Tide with 3.5 sacks (-25) to rank tied for 23rd in the NCAA and fourth in the SEC. Dareus also has nine tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries. Cornerback Javier Arenas is second on the team with 3.0 sacks for a loss of 31 yards to rank tied for fifth in the SEC. Middle linebacker Rolando McClain is next with two sacks for a loss of 19 yards. Obviously the loss of Dont'a Hightower is a blow to defense of the Tide, but Coach Nick Saban has a stockpile of studs to pick from and a steady rotation of backups should be able to pick up the slack as they did for the final 3 quarters of last week's Arkansas game.

Special Teams is where 'Bama can also hurt you when all stud return man Javier Arenas is back deep to return punts or kickoffs. Arenas is quickly sneaking up on the all-time great punt returners in college football history. He is the NCAA active leader in career punt returns, yards, touchdowns, returns per game and yards per game. After returning four punts for 59 yards last week against Arkansas, Arenas is just 165 punt return yards away from breaking Lee Nalley's long-standing SEC record of 1,472 (102 returns for a 14.4 ypr average). Now if 'Bama can just stop committing silly penalties on Arenas' returns they can truly enjoy the game changing field position he provides. Twice last week against Arkansas, Arenas had long punt returns called back due to block in the back penalties. I'm sure that Coach Saban worked on that quite a bit this week in practice.

Talk about a killer schedule! UK gets to watch the #1 ranked Florida Gators run roughshod all over Commonwealth Stadium only to see the #3 ranked Crimson Tide come calling. Kentucky has a 8-4 (.667) record with junior Mike Hartline as the starting quarterback. Hartline has completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 485 yards and four touchdowns. After gaining 36 yards against Florida, Derrick Locke has 993 career rushing yards and needs just seven more yards for 1,000. Randall Cobb has scored at least one touchdown in six of 14 career games, including five of the last seven. He leads UK and ranks second in the SEC in receptions per game (6.0).

Trevard Lindley has made several game-changing plays while at Kentucky. He currently has 10 interceptions and 38 pass breakups during his Wildcat career. Seven of his 10 interceptions have been key plays in Kentucky victories, with the eighth pick helping send a game into overtime. He led the team in breakups each of the last three seasons and now holds UK's career record with 38. He currently leads the SEC in passes defended with 1.7 per game. Corey Peters has 107 tackles in his career, including 17.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 quarterback sacks. The Wildcats linebackers are paced by senior Micah Johnson, who leads the team in tackles with 25 stops. He ranks fifth in the SEC in tackles per game.

Will 'Bama be caught looking ahead? Is UK really as bad as they looked when trailing 31-0 after the first quarter last week? Can UK field a complete front five. Starting right tackle Justin Jeffries suffered and Achilles tendon injury, while starting left guard Christian Johnson is a likely no-go with a rib problem. The last thing the Wildcat offense needs is to deal with Terrence Cody and the Alabama defensive line with green linemen like sophomore Jake Lanefski on the inside and junior Brad Durham on the out. This is nothing like the studs who faced off against the Tide last year. Myron Power has moved on to the NFL. The best pass rusher for UK, Jermey Jarmon, was ruled ineligible prior to the season starting. This has to be a nightmare for Mildcat DC Steve Brown.

UK is famous for starting slow and having to play catch up. They have been held scoreless in two of three first quarters this season and nine of 16 dating back to last year's season opener. Since last season's opener, opponents are outscoring UK 139-44 in first quarters, but the Cats are outscoring opponents 330-208 in the last three.

The Tide has dominated this series winning 34 times and only losing twice to the Wildcats. The last time was in 1997 (OT 40-34). I was there and they were still linked arm in arm singing "My Old Kentucky Home" half an hour after the final gun. UK can play better than they showed last week but it's not going to matter. Nobody should have to play arguably the two best teams in college football back to back, but that is exactly the task that faces the Mildcats. For the Cats to have a chance they need to keep 'Bama in the low 20s and I don't see that happening with the offensive fire power the Tide brings to the table. With the line dropping almost 2 points, I'm very happy to lay the points and take my Crimson Tide. I will be in Section 114 hopefully singing the Rammer Jammer around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

Some trends to consider:
Bama is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games on grass.
Bama is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
UK is 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 home games.
UK is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 conference games.

My pick is Alabama -15.5

My prediction is Crimson Tide 34-10

Love the Alabama play and hope you cash it. :00hour

Its about time you started tailing me to victory.
I mean posting your plays.

I mean .........

ahhh you know what I mean

Looking at that Georgia / LSU game this week , its too much of a tossup for me to get involved at a money level. I will be watching every play though.

If Georgia has a let down

Fumbles - Cox and Samuel or King

Interceptions - Cox boy

Penalties - Holy chit this is getting pathetic game after game. Is there no dicipline on the Bulldogs to get this resolved ?

Against LSU this is finally going to come home to roost and LSU will win this game.

Love this game to show us going forward some future wagers that we can smash.

So just how good a 4-0 team are the Bayou Bengals? That win at UDubb looks a lot more impressive since the USC upset a few weeks ago. It took a 93 yard punt return for a TD and a goal line stand to sneak out of Starkpatch last weekend a winner against Miss. State. Still... in this conference a win is a win and the Mad Hatter does not need to apologize for winning. Ultimately it's not how you won, just that you won. UGA won between the hedges last weekend on a last second FG to defeat the ASU Sun Devils. This is another team that kinda leaves you scratching your head. Tough loss at Okie State to open the season... no shame in losing on the road for sure but the UGA Defense has taken a holiday. South Carolina and Arkansas were able to score at will on the Dawg's defense, but the bottom line is that the Offense was able to put a few more points on the scoreboard... and as I mentioned up above, a win is a win is a win.

LSU goes into the Georgia game averaging 28.8 points per game and 310.0 total yards (130.2 rushing, 179.8 passing). Quarterback Jordan Jefferson has completed 61.4 percent of his passes (62-of-101) for 708 yards, seven TDs and just one interception. His top targets are senior Brandon LaFell, who has 20 receptions for 230 yards and 5 TDs, and junior Terrance Toliver (17 rec., 266 yards, 2 TDs). Keiland Williams leads the Tigers in rushing with 184 yards and 2 TDs on 36 carries. LSU?s passing game has been efficient and the offense has scored when it has absolutely had to. The running game has been stunningly poor. The biggest key will be turnovers. LSU, after spending last year pitching the ball to the other team as a habit, has only lost three turnovers this season and is fifth in turnover margin. Georgia is 115th in the nation in turnover margin having only taken the ball away three times.

Harry Coleman leads the team with 29 tackles, while LB Perry Riley has 28 stops. CB Patrick Peterson and LB Jacob Cutrera have both returned interceptions for TDs this year. Rahim Alem is the unquestioned leader of the Tiger defensive front, while borther Chad Jones is the quarterback in the secondary for the Tigers. Alem, a defensive end, leads the Tigers in both tackles for losses (4.5-19 yards) and sacks (2-12 yards), while Jones, the free safety, is first on the squad in interceptions (2) and he's fifth in total tackles (20).

Trindon Holliday is a danger in the return game, being named "College Football's Fastest Player" and is the reigning NCAA champion in the 100-meter dash. Jones returned a punt 93 yards for a touchdown to open the fourth quarter in LSU's 30-26 win over Mississippi State. The 93-yard return ranks second in LSU history and proved to be the winning points for the Tigers.

UGA Senior Joe Cox tied the school record with five touchdown passes against Arkansas while passing for a career-high 375 yards. Cox was 18-of-25 on the night (72 percent). Against ASU, Cox completed a career-long 56-yard TD to A.J. Green and finished with 242 passing yards. A.J. Green is building on a successful freshman season and is currently leading the SEC in total receiving yards (428), receiving yards per game (107.0) and rec. per game (6.2). Green snagged eight catches for 153 yards and a touchdown versus ASU, giving him four career 100-yard games.

Junior WLB Rennie Curran leads the SEC with 39 tackles in four games. He is the top returning tackler in the SEC after recording 115 stops in 2008. Curran matched his career high with 15 tackles against USC in 2009 and had the game-winning pass break-up in the game's final seconds. Junior SLB Darryl Gamble had a season-high nine stops versus the Gamecocks. Last time he faced LSU, Gamble tied an NCAA record by returning a pair of INTs for touchdowns and had a career-high 13 tackles. Geno Atkins anchors Georgia's defensive tackles and had a pair of TFLs during the win over ASU.

Bulldog sophomore Blair Walsh connected on a 37-yard FG to beat ASU as time expired in 2009. This was the first game-winning FG for the Bulldogs since Brandon Coutu drilled one from the same distance to beat Vanderbilt in 2007. Drew Butler is averaging an NCAA-leading 50.1 yards on 16 punts. His 57.0 average against #9 OSU is the second-best average for a game since 1958.

I'm licking my chops to see two of the best receivers in the SEC, dare I say all of college football go against each other. LSU's Brandon LaFell and UGA's A.J. Green are true studs and sure to be future NFL first round choices. Last year's game was a shootout with the Dawgs winning 52-38. With the play of both defenses I would be surprised if we did not see another high scoring affair. UGA is the only SEC team that the Mad Hatter has not won against. I expect that to change on Saturday. This should be a tight game going back and forth. While LSU's offense is not great, the UGA defense is MIA and that should be just enough for the Bayou Bengals to sneak outta Sanford Stadium with the "W".

Some trends to consider:
UGA is 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite.
UGA is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games.
UGA is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

My pick is LSwho +3.5

My prediction is Bayou Bengals 30-28

So far it looks like we are on the same side of both games. Neither UGA or LSU jump off the page at me... but it should be an entertaining game. We will be running to find a TV as soon as the 'Bama game is over in Lexington.

Best of luck on your plays as well! :toast: :toast:

Ole Piss at Vandy

Both teams are in need of a victory in this game. The Rebs just want to get the bad taste of the rotten egg they laid in Columbia outta their mouths. Vandy wants to prove that last season was no fluke and can make it back to a bowl game for just the second time in almost 25 years. Will the Reverend Houston Nutt have the real Ole Piss team show up in Music City or will they be sent home with another "L" and no chance at winning the SEC West? Can the 'Dores find the endzone? Hell, can they find the scoreboard?

Vandy is already in the SEC hole with an 0-2 record with losses to LSU and Mississippi State. In those two games they were only able to score a total of 12 points. Not good, not good at all. It's not going to get much better against a strong Rebel defense. Ole Piss has forced 9 turnovers this year and hungry for more. Warren Norman topped the Commodores with 119 yards rushing last week, and became the team's first freshman to register multiple 100+ rushing games since Kwane Doster accomplished the feat four times in 2002. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Larry Smith recorded career highs in completions (23), attempts (41) and passing yards (268. His longest completion ? a 54-yarder to sophomore WR Udom Umoh ? was a career best for both players.

Senior cornerback Myron Lewis recorded his first two interceptions of the season against Rice, including a pick in the final minute to seal the victory. Lewis has eight career interceptions, and needs just two picks to enter the team's all-time Top Ten in the category. The All-SEC candidate is tied for third in the SEC in both interceptions and defensed passes. The defense also registered four quarterback sacks last week. The unit was led by a pair of sacks by junior defensive end Theron Kadri and 1.5 sacks by senior tackle Greg Billinger. Kadri is tied for fifth in the SEC with three QB sacks.

After a slow start, Vanderbilt's kicking specialists have shown across-the-board improvement. Senior punter Brett Upson has averaged 41.6 yards in the last three games, including five efforts of 50 yards or more. Of Upson's 31 punts, 10 have been downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Redshirt freshman kicker Ryan Fowler, replacing all-time Commodore scoring leader Bryant Hahnfeldt, has hit on five straight field goals after missing his first two career attempts.

Junior QB Jevan Snead has completed at least one TD pass in 12 consecutive games, which is four short of Eli Manning's school record. Snead had his school-record streak of multiple TD passes end at eight with the South Carolina game. Senior Dexter McCluster led the team in rushing against South Carolina for the first time this year with season highs of 15 carries for 85 yards. He failed to collect a reception for the first time in five games. Brandon Bolden ranks ninth in the SEC in rushing at 69.3 ypg. Markeith Summers is the team leader in TD receptions with a pair.

Junior S Johnny Brown ranks third in the SEC in tackles at 8.7 per game. In the season opener against Memphis, Brown made his first start since his freshman year and recorded his second career interception. Brown also topped the team with a career-high 15 tackles. Senior S Kendrick Lewis topped the team in tackles at South Carolina with eight along with a pair of pass break-ups. Lewis is averaging 7.3 stops per game, which ranks 10th in the SEC. Junior DT Jerrell Powe, who moved into the starting lineup in the second game of the year, has notched a team-high 4.0 TFLs.

Ole Miss ranks second in the SEC in kickoff coverage with a net of 47.3-yard average per kick. Freshman K Andrew Ritter is averaging 65.1 yards per kickoff with five touchbacks in 19 attempts. Senior K Joshua Shene remains perfect on the season, connecting on all 12 PATs and three FGs, including a pair of 42-yarders. Shene has extended his streak of successful PATs to 86, which is second on the all-time Rebel charts. Senior Marshay Green had a season-long 36-yard punt return at South Carolina. Green ranks second in the SEC in PR average at 11.2 ypr.

Here is a trend that should tell you something: the Rebs are 1-7 ATS head to head with Vandy in their last 8 meetings. Vandy won last year's game with only 202 yards of offense. I think that the Vandy defense will keep this game close for at least a half, but the offense is just not very good and the Rebs should have no trouble covering. The Rebels will not be caught looking ahead to Alabama next week in Oxford. My first anti-trend play of the year. With a few extra days to practice Ole Piss will walk away from Music City, USA with a "W".

Some trends to consider:
Commodores are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
Commodores are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog.
Commodores are 8-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
Commodores are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0.
Commodores are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
Commodores are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

My pick is Ole Piss -9.5

My prediction is Rebels 27-6

Georgia Tech at Mississippi State

What a difference a year makes. Coach Dan Mullen has really changed the attitude in just four games in Starkpatch. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong and Lord knows that is quite a bit! I was dead against MSU's firing of Sylvester Croom last year, but the proof is in the pudding... Mullen has basically the same team and they are playing head and shoulders above last year's team. He's gonna need that big effort this weekend when the Ramblin' Wreck comes calling. Last year the score was 38-7 and it wasn't even that close. Something tells me that it will be quite a bit closer this year. My only question is how will MSU bounce back from last week's gut wrenching loss to LSU.

Jonathan Dwyer broke loose for 158 yards rushing -- just one yard shy of tying a career high -- last week against North Carolina. In the process, the 2009 ACC Preseason Player of the Year eclipsed 2,000 career rushing yards and moved into ninth place on Tech's all-time career rushing chart. Dwyer ranks second in the ACC and 38th nationally in rushing (81.5 ypg). Demaryius Thomas ranks second in the ACC and 26th nationally in receiving yards per game (90.5). Junior quarterback Josh Nesbitt doesn't produce statistics that jump off the page -- although he does rank third in the ACC in rushing (77.5 ypg).

Morgan Burnett two interceptions against the Heels', including one that would seal the game for the Jackets with 1:34 left on the clock. Burnett's two interceptions give him three for the season--good for second place in the ACC--and 13 for his career, moving him into a tie for fourth in school history. He also made a team-high six tackles. Derrick Morgan has 5.5 sacks on the season, which ranks first in the ACC and tied for sixth nationally. He has 7.0 tackles for loss, which leads the ACC and ranks tied for 17th nationally.

Sophomore Jerrard Tarrant returned punts for touchdowns in each of the first two games of his college career -- 68 yards vs. Jacksonville State and 85 yards against Clemson. He ranks fourth nationally in punt return average. Chandler Anderson ranks second in the ACC in punting (42.8 ypa) and Blair ranks tied for second in field goals made (1.5 mpg).

Senior running back Anthony Dixon has racked up 321 yards in his three games this season, good for a 107.0 yard average - 16th highest in the nation and second in the Southeastern Conference. Dixon entered the SEC record book last weekend, moving into 10th on the conference rushing attempts list. Dixon has not lost a fumble since the regular-season finale of 2007, a stretch of 16 games.Marcus Green had five receptions for 100 yards versus LSU, becoming the first Mississippi State tight end to have 100+ receiving yards in a game since Reggie Kelly had 119 yards against South Carolina in 1997. Green set a career best in catches and yards in a single game, including a 50-yard TD.

Senior linebacker Jamar Chaney and junior K.J. Wright are the team's leaders on defense, and their names appear atop the MSU defense statistics and among the conference leaders in total tackles. Wright has 26 tackles in the first four games, including 11 at Vanderbilt. Chaney has 24 stops and tallied eight stops, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss against LSU a week ago. Wright also had a TFL against LSU and leads the team with 3.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

First-year punter Heath Hutchins and kicker Sean Brauchle have each made strong impressions early in their careers. Hutchins ranks fourth in the SEC with a 42.62 yard-per-punt average, and in 20 of his 21 punts has allowed only 11 punt return yards. Brauchle missed his first two attempts as a Bulldog, but since then has made six consecutive tries, including a 49-yarder at Vanderbilt.

Welcome to the Magnolia State, Yellow Jacket fans. This is the first time Tech has ever played a college football game in the great state of Mississippi. That doesn't mean anything, just a unique tidbit to throw out there. Georgia Tech ran like a team possessed last week against UNC, to the tune of 317 yards. MSU will definitely but up a better effort against the run, but I don't believe they can completely shut down the Tech running game. There is a renewed sense of hope in Starkpatch and Tech needs to be careful and not overlook the Bulldogs. I dont' think this happens, but Tech fan's ears will be ringing with the sound of those damn cowbells State fans are famous for sneaking into Scott Field. I think it's a good, close game, but for me and my money, we will lay the points and take the Jackets. This is another anti-trend play as they say to play the Bulldogs.

Some trends to consider:
Bulldogs are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog.
Bulldogs are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

My pick is Jawga Tech -5.5

My prediction is Ramblin' Wreck 24-14

Arkansas vs Texas A & M in Dallas

Can you say old fashioned shoot-out? It's a good thing they aren't playing at the Cotton Bowl because that old scoreboard would be on tilt by halftime! Don't read too much into Arkansas' offensive woes last week. Alabama might just be the best team in the nation and they certainly have one of the best defenses in the land. The Arkansas secondary is not very good though and that is music to the backers of the Aggies. If you follow the Ags though, you've got to be wondering, "How good are we?" 3-0 is nice, but doesn't mean anything when those wins are against Utah State, UAB and New Mexico. Man, talk about soft! We will see just how good Mike Sherman's boys are Saturday night.

In his second season as a starter, quarterback Jerrod Johnson has been nothing short of brilliant in the first three games of 2009. The Big 12's top rushing quarterback (65.3 yard per game) also averages over 300 passing yards (320.3) and nearly 400 yards of total offense (385.7) per game. Johnson leads the nation in points responsible for with an average of 26.0 points per game (9 passing TDs, 4 rushing TDs). Jamie McCoy is averaging 4.3 catches and 56.3 yards per game this season which puts him among the top five tight ends in the country.

The Aggies are the NCAA leaders in quarterback sacks per game just a season after posting just 16 sacks for the entire 2008 season and ranking No. 100 in the NCAA statistics. Led by NCAA individual leader Jack Von Miller, the Aggies have sacked the opposing quarterback 14 times in three games or an NCAA-best 4.67 per game. Miller has contributed eight sacks, and defensive mates LB Kyle Mangan, DL Tony Jerod-Eddie, DL Eddie Brown, "jack" Matt Featherston and DE Matt Moss have combined for six more.

After the season-opener head coach Mike Sherman termed the Aggies' punt game "serviceable, but not a winning effort necessarily." Now three games into the season, the Aggies rank No. 7 nationally in net punting with a 42.0 average. First-year punter Ken Wood, a sophomore transfer from Montana, is averaging a healthy 44.0 yards on 11 punts and has left four boots inside the opponent 20-yard line. Only three of Woods' punts have been returned, for a total of two yards.

Through three games, Ryan Mallett has thrown for 877 yards and seven touchdowns. In just 12 quarters, Mallett has thrown for as many or more touchdowns than the Razorbacks did all season 24 times (records dating back to 1947). Michael Smith led all rushers against Alabama with 12 carries for 61 yards. He has now rushed for 1,775 yards and 15 career touchdowns. Greg Childs leads the team with three touchdown receptions this season (two vs. Georgia, one at Alabama). Last season, D.J. Williams and Andrew Davie led the Razorbacks with three touchdown receptions.

Defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard leads the team with 4.5 tackles for loss this season. His career total (30.5) ranks 12th in school history. Sheppard has led the Razorbacks in tackles for loss each of the last two seasons. Malcolm Sheppard has had at least half of a tackle for a loss in each of the last 11 games. Wendel Davis is tied for the team lead in tackles with Matt Harris as the two have 19 each. Davis led the squad in tackles in the season opener against Missouri State and against Georgia. He is tied for second on the team in tackles for loss (2.5). Jerry Franklin started his 15th-straight game at Alabama.

Against Alabama Dennis Johnson returned three kickoffs for 81 yards to bring his career total to 1,164 yards, which ranks as the fourth highest total in school history. The Razorbacks converted their first fake punt of the season at Alabama on a nine-yard run by Ronnie Wingo, Jr. The play came on fourth and six at the Arkansas 25-yard line. Alex Tejada remains perfect on the year going 1-of-1 on extra-point tries. He is now 4-of-4 on field goal attempts and 12--of-12 on extra-point opportunities.

In a rematch of two old SWC foes, Arkansas is the more talented and better coached team. I like that and that's where I'm putting my money. If Utah State?s Diondre Borel could throw for 334 yards, then Mallett should be able to get to 400 with a few flicks of his wrist. :scared This game is another high scoring affair. WOO PIG SOOEEE!

My pick is Hogs +1.5

My prediction is Arkansas 48-37

Awbarn at UcheaT

Man, I cringe just writing those two teams names! Is it possible for them both to just lose? :mj07: In all seriousness, Gene Chizik has War Eagle playing some great football so far and my friends down on the Plains are starting to drink the kool-aid. The offense is off the chart and looks nothing like last year's train wreck. Listen to these numbers... Total points scored by Auburn in 2008: 207. Total points scored by Auburn in 4 games this season: 181. WOW! Awbarn has had the luxury of opening the season with four straight games at home. Problem is they take the show on the road and into Papa Kiffin's house. Monte Kiffin might have laid the groundwork last week on how to slay the mighty Tim Tebow and his Florida Gators. Me thinks that they will have something up their sleeve for Guz Malzahn's powerful offense. Offensively, the UcheaT offense is, well, offensive. QB Jonathan Crompton is no threat to throw the ball more than 10 yards down field for fear of throwing it to the other team, which he does very well. The Viles will need a perfect game from their "O" to win. Will they be able to deliver?

Chris Todd ranks second in the nation in yards per completion (16.32) and sixth nationally in passing efficiency (171.05). His 11 touchdown passes are tied for third most in the NCAA. Auburn has two of the nation's top 31 rushers, including two of the top four in the SEC. Senior Ben Tate, who ranks ninth in Auburn history with 2,371 career rushing yards, averages 103.0 yards rushing per game, which is third in the league and 17th nationally. Freshman Onterio McCalebb is fourth in the SEC and 31st nationally, averaging 91.3 yards rushing per game. Darvin Adams has emerged as Auburn's top target downfield, leading the team in catches (20), receiving yards (334) and touchdown receptions (five).

Antonio Coleman, a first-team preseason All-SEC selection, is off to a strong start to the season. He has 19 tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception which he returned for a touchdown against Mississippi State and a fumble recovery. Coleman ranks tied for sixth in school history with 17.0 career sacks, and this season, he is tied for eighth in the league in tackles for loss and and tied for 10th with 2.5 sacks.

Junior Wes Byrum has been perfect so far during the 2009 season, connecting on all six of his field goal attempts and 23-of-23 extra points. Byrum, who ranks second in the SEC in scoring (10.3) and tied for 21st in the nation with six field goals made, now is tied for sixth in school history with 34 career made field goals.

Montario Hardesty is averaging 121.3 yards per game and 5.8 yards per carry. He currently ranks eighth in the nation and atop the SEC in rushing yards per game. He is on pace for 1,818 rushing yards in 2009. In four starts during the 2009 season, Hardesty has produced the four largest single-game rushing efforts of his career and scored four touchdowns. Gerald Jones, UT's top receiver in 2008, returned to the regular rotation at Florida and has caught just three passes in two games.

Janzen Jackson has started three games at free safety and registered 12 tackles, a pass break-up and a fumble recovery while quickly earning a reputation as a fearless and bruising tackler. Eric Berry snagged his 13th career interception vs. Florida, making him the active career leader in the FBS. Berry has been among UT's top three tacklers in three of four games and posted double-digit tackle efforts vs. UCLA and Florida. He currently ranks ninth in the SEC in tackles and first on the team with 31 (7.8 per game). He is also leading the Vols in special teams tackles with five. Rico McCoy tied for the team lead with eight tackles including a shared tackle for loss vs. Ohio.

After starting off the 2008 season a shaky one-of- four in field goal attempts, UT placekicker Daniel Lincoln has hit eight of his last 10 attempts dating to the 2008 Vanderbilt game. He converted on a career-long field 49-yard field goal to seal Tennessee's win over Ohio and is six-of-seven on the season. After not having to punt in the season opener, Chad Cunningham has kicked 11 times for a 40.7-yard average.

Folks in ObKnoxville were on cloud nine after the Viles dispatched Western Kentucky 63-7 to open the season. Reality hit hard the next week when an average UCLA team came into Neyland Stadium and left town with a 19-15 win. To UcheaT's credit, they were expected to be blown outta the Swamp and they played Florida to a tough 23-13 final. Returning home the Viles were expected to run away from the MAC's Ohio University, but struggled in beating the Bobcats 34-23. Which team will show up tomorrow? Will it be the 95% team or the 5% team (Kiffin called out his Viles earlier this week for not giving 100%). While Lame Kiffin might be righting the ship that Fat Phil ran into the ground the past few seasons, it's not gonna be enough. As much as it pains me to write this, War Eagle will leave Rocky Top with a well earned "W".

My pick is War Eagle +3

My prediction is Awbarn 17-13
