Reports say the SEC has invited Mizzu in. That would get the SEC to 14. If we are indeed headed to 4 16 team mega conferences then what other two teams make the most sense to invite in. Obviously it would have to be a good match for both. I would love to see clemson and virginia tech come in, but I just cant see VT doing it, Clemson on the other hand I could se happening. The other I think makes sense for both sides is west virginia(I actually think this will happen). It gets WV much more money and opens another market to the SEC like A&M and Mizzu do. Thoughts?

Clemson won't happen. The current SEC school presidents all said no in state adds to the conference. When you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Right now SC doesn't compete with Clemson for a lot of kids because those kids want to play in the SEC so it's SC or an out of state school. If Clemson joined then there's a chance that a good many of potential SC recruits go to Clemson because they'll would be able to go there and play in the SEC. Same goes with Florida not wanting Flo State.

Virginia Tech is the choice I would think that is most attractive. Passionate fans, a team that has been good for the last 20 years and not an in state rival. WV maybe? IMO Kansas would be a great add. At some point too many really good football schools would hurt some of the programs so why not add an avergage or below average football team but a great basketball team. Diminishing returns on more football so pick up good basketball and get higher returns for the addition.

Makes sense and I would love to see them in, but I just dont see the incentive unless it is Much, Much more money. Lets be honest, a little extra money doesnt make-up for a conference you can win every year and a lot of pretty easy routes to BCS games. Kansas is intriguing, though I would prefer to not bring in a woeful football team you atre right about it upgrading basketball big time. What would really be great is to get virgina tech and because they see the writing on the wall of the move to super conferences Notre Dame joins SEC:lol: I know, I know.

As of right now, Missouri is not going to the SEC. The SEC invite was contingent on the breakup of the Big XII. The SEC did not want to be the ones that broke up the Big XII (I'm sure this mostly has to do with legal reasons). The Pac 12 has announced that they currently do not want to expand, which means that Tech, OU, and Oklahoma St. will be staying in the Big XII. Now they just have to see if Dan Beebe will be ousted or not. Lots of drama.

WV got declined. Not enough TV sets. Sucks for them they got declined by the ACC for academics. Red-Headed stepchild

Mizzou would be a shitty add but I can understand the TV market they bring

I think the days of the super conferences are coming if we like it or not. I think the move in the SEC back in '91 has turned out to be a good one.
It will be refreshing for my black bears to get the hell beat out of them by some different teams!
