I will have to give props to the Pac 10 they have really begun to turn it up a notch, still don't think the conf as a whole measures up to the SEC but they have really closed the gap.

ASU winsthe pac

ASU winsthe pac

Scott- I think the statue comment about Walter is off. He is jsut like Carson was.. people said he was a statue and that just was not true. Our season will depend on how well we stop the run, which I see as our achilles heel, and how well we run the ball. We have a list of 5 guys at rb with similiar talent but our most talented Hakim Hill the soph has off the field issues and will not play much early on,,, our next best is a true freshman randy hill who turned heads in practice. I think our run game improves 100 percent. USC at ASU OCT 4TH will be good one... ASU has the 7th best secondary in the nation by TSN rankings. So we are deep there. Should be a fun season

AS FOR NAU AND UTAH ST... how pathetic, Central Mich canceled on us to play Michigan which is understandable and SDSU canceled our home game to play lesser competition, cant blame them so USU and NAU were last minute fill ins. Should be a good one though this year

I don't care who has the 'better' conference, but there is absolutely no place I'd rather be on a fall Saturday than ANY SEC football game. There's just nothing else that even comes close. Great post War-Eagle. Don't let these chest pounding USC fans get you down. Hell, every SEC fan for the last month has been saying that #6 rating was WAAAAYY to high for Auburn. I'll be the first to admit...USC has a very foking good fb team. But to make a statement like "No other conf even comes close to Pac 10 in overall football talent" makes me chuckle a little. Have a look at the Top 25. Enough said.

USC fans - congrats on your ass whipping, but use caution measuring USC's skill level against Auburn because everybody knew (especially SEC fans) that Auburn at #6 was laughable.

Hope USC has a great season!

even if auburn wasnt a number 6 caliber team.. USC showed a lot last year and had to prove themselves again vs a very hostile crowd. A crowd that had no problem calling the Pac-10 weak. USC showed they are for real and they like asking for respect. I am not an SC fan at all. I will admit I havent watched enough SEC football to compare them to the Pac-10. However I know everything there is to know about the Pac 10 and think from 1-8 anyteam can win this conferance. (Sorry Cardinal and Wildcats)
I must admit though, I went to a UGA vs Gtech game in Athens and was floored by the passion for football. I just dont understand why you peole dress up to go to football games!

SCott- Yeah SC'S schedule is brutal especially on the road with tough pac-10 games all on the road.. excpet osu you catch at home.. you guys can lose one game and go sugar bowl i think.. as long as osu, miami, okla lose a game. Hopefully you guys lose to ASU who better hope to run the table if they want to go BCS becasue they have a simple schedule. except ore st,iowa and ucla on road and sc at home. I hope UCLA beat Oklahoma:eek:     i know be realisitic... and you guys lose to ASU!

Not chest-pounding or an SC fan.

You said "every SEC fan for the last month has been saying that #6 rating was WAAAAYY to high for Auburn." And finished by saying "have a look at the top 25. Enough said."

OK! This week the pollsters got it right??? Have Auburn print that page, & place it on the 50-yd line next time SC comes to town. Or maybe they can roll it up & slap the Trojans helmets w it to prove their as good as that paper says they are. Football is played on the field, not in the polls! Remember, Nebraska was top 10 to start last year, then lost 5 or 6 games.

If you had bothered to read the fineprint (others rec'g votes), you would know that 8 Pac 10 teams got votes. Nearly half the SEC (5 teams) didnt get votes.

SC not as good as they looked in that game, Auburn not as bad as they looked. Minus those 2 big turnovers & 1 dropped pass, & Auburn would have been in that game late.

I just believe that team 1 thru 10 or 12, the Pac 10 has more talent than any other conf.

I agree 100% with mansa_musa. 1-10 the pac 10 is tough. SEC is a good conference, but there is no team in the SEC that scares me. I think USC would win the SEC hands down. Pac 10 is tough because there are a lot of good coaches and high octane offenses.

But teams in the pac 10 will struggle against USC until they learn to play defense. USC is light years ahead of the pac 10 on defensive side of the ball. Soon, maybe next year USC offense will be light years ahead of the pac 10 offenses. FUTURE is very very bright for USC on both sides of the ball. And Pete Carroll wants the best defense and offense this team see's to be at practice. Defense is already there and the offense is not too far behind especially with BOOTY in the future.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!
