SEC WEST PREDICTIONS

Ok, I thought I would give my opinion on how the SEC West will do this year.

WEST
1.BAMA
I wish I could find a reason not to put them here.
2.AUBURN
D will be better, O will be awesome.
3.LSU
Miles always figures out a way to be the most clueless coach with 9 or more wins.
4. ARKANSAS
Mallet on crutches by week 4.
5. OLE MISS
Houston Nutt will win a few he shouldn't but that's about it.
6. MISS ST.
Mullen is working with nothing, they will be better but what will that get them?

Any thoughts?

Why is Mallet going to get hurt? I know he broke his foot in the offseason but they are returning 3 starters on the O line.

Ark could very easily finish there but is Mallet really an injury concern?

I think Auburn has what it takes to beat Bama this year... I don't think Bama goes undefeated... Arkansas will be the dark horse of the West... As for the bottom 3... it's all up for grabs... anything can happen

I agree with you on State - I would love not to see Bama in 1st, but I think they are there. I do think the Hogs beat them though.

While I don't see Bama losing the conf. title, I do think Arkansas will surprise this year.

Corley...Did you not say a while back that State...despite losing Dixon...has some good RB prospects coming back. I just got thru watching the replay of the LSU/State game last year and boy did State have a good chance to win that game. They were dominating on the ground. I understand both lines are supposed to be pretty good to...main losses being Dixon and that one real good LB...can't remember his name.

Miss St did everything but win the LSU game. They now need to learn how to win the games in which they outplay their competition. The culture of losing is tough to break. Definitely a program on the rise, but too bad for them playing in one of the toughest divisions in the nation.

So true...the teams that know how win turn 300yds into 30 points while the 'others' turn it into 15 or so. The West is brutal but thinking some value may be had with State this year. Hard to get with the Bama's & LSU's.

You mean the Bamas and the Arky's. LSU should not scare anyone!!!

Yo boys.. the LB is Jamar Cheney... and yes we have quite a stable of RB's... Ballard, Elliot, Perkins, Griffin, and Conner... Yeah that LSU game was a heartbreaker... cost us a bowl game...

Thanks Corley. The Hogs will definitely be tough, especially if they can come up with some defense, which according to what I've read lately...(PB Ribbon preview (at espn)...super write-ups btw...they are 'supposed' to be better.

LSU just needs to run the ball better. Although they averaged about 123 ypg for the season, they only averaged 54.4 ypg against Mississippi St, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Penn St. But they were never really out of any of those games...so there's no telling what just even 35 to 40 more ypg could do for them.

Yeah the Hogs will definitely be a force if their D gets better... LSU's running game has been what has allowed them to be so tough in years past... they controlled the clock and kept their D off the field...

Miss. St. is on the right track but I don't see them doing anything for another year or two. I think they have a great coach but don't have the players.
