Time to make money thanks for the kind words, enjoy talking stocks, also useful found it useful to post. later you can look back and say that was correct and at other times "what the hell was I thinking".
as for TransCanada wrote some puts on the company last two weeks,
July $19 puts .60 cents a share, 10 contracts.
Jan 03 puts $1.70 10 contracts
the stock was trading for around $20 $19.90-$20.20
now over $20. also like Enbridge and believe it will grow faster than TRP but has smaller yield. both good places to park cash and in general good stocks to have in the portfolio.
Have covered calls on Enbridge $45, believe upside is no greater than $45.
know many people who are buying Canada Saving bonds which yield below 2%. you are losing out to inflation, at least with the pipelines higher yields, dividend tax credit, and growing (though slowly ) earnings and hopefully dividends.
you can also invest in TRP and Enbridge in the way of DRIP sPP (dividend re-investment plan) share purchase plan, the divs can be re-invested for no fee to buy more shares. good way to invest if you want to start with a small sum, and build it up over time.
if someone is looking for yields income trusts on the TSE are good place to look.
will have a small write up on them, do not own that many but they have done well, most of them are fully valued, but still not bad if someone is looking for income.
