Like the Miami selection, especially teased down 6. last week Va Tech was my biggest play. Escaped with a victory and cover, but it was not easy. Actually, Va. is much improved and will be hard to deal with in the future. Anyway, Va Tech is not the same Va tech as in the past. The difference at QB , alone will make the difference. Throw in the big running back for Miami and I think we have a victory. Good luck.

Brown To Miss Big 12 Title Game; Purify Doubtful
Dec. 4, 2002
AP
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) Colorado running back Chris Brown, sidelined by a bruised sternum, will not play in the Big 12 championship game against No. 8 Oklahoma on Saturday.

Tailback Bobby Purify, who has a sprained ankle, is doubtful for the game in Houston, coach Gary Barnett said Wednesday.

Barnett said he would prefer to have Brown and Purify in the game, but he's not worried.

"We are not going to change who we are and I am not going to lose any sleep," he said.

Brown was injured during No. 12 Colorado's game against Iowa State Nov. 16. He missed last week's 28-13 win over Nebraska. The Doak Walker Award finalist has rushed for 1,744 yards and scored 18 touchdowns this season.

Purify sprained his ankle during the Nebraska game. He practiced a little Wednesday. He has rushed for 739 yards and three touchdowns this season.

With Brown and possibly Purify out, freshman Brian Calhoun and sophomore Marcus Houston will get the majority of the carries in the game. Barnett said he didn't know who would start.
